The bolt pattern is standard chevy 6-bolt, with a standard off-set(depending on rim width).

A standard offset.
What the hell is that

I think she wants the offset of the stock rim so she can calculate the offset of a 16x10 rim.

Anyone know what it is?

Offset doesn't really factor into things for most people.

Backspacing is the most important if you are fitting wider tires, because you want to fit a new wheel that will be spaced out from the body of the vehicle. You will get a wider track doing this whcih will increase offroad stability but lessen turning radius, but you wont foul the inside or the control arms/springs.

If the tire sticks out too much you may need wider flares, but there are some avialable for the H2 now, so it wont be long.

The stock 33" tire is around 9" wide.
I'm going to fit 33x12.50 Super Swampers on mine , which wont fit the stock rims, so I'll go to a 16x10 with less backspacing, moving the wheels outwards relative to the mounting point.

I think 5" backsapcing will be about right.

Fabtech's lift for a H2 puts 37x12.50 tires on a 4 5/8" backspaced 16x10 rim, so I was odd by 3/8 of an inch

I've been fighting the Bolt Pattern/offset problem, but the biggest problem with aftermarket wheels is that the centerbore on the H3 is much larger than other GM products. The bolt pattern is the same as the Escalade and the offset is close (+30mm H3 : +20mm for the Esc), but the big problem is the centerbore for the H3 is 100.6 while most GM (Esc, Tahoe...) is 87. Most aftermarket wheels will not fit the H3. You have to use the foreign vehicle wheels to accept the larger centerbore, but then the offset is off by over an inch. There are only a handful of wheels made that will work on the H3 correctly or close........... or you can have the centerbore "milled" to to fit the H3. I kept being told if I waited 4-6 months there should be multiple wheels for this application. I didn't want to wait.

What rims have you been looking at that will owrk and what size?

Keep in mind that I bought this for my son, but he wanted 20+" rims for the vehicle. I was limited to a selection of 2 wheels that would "fit" as tried by the installer. I didn't like either (SMA also has a couple). I have a thing for MOMO wheels so we picked a wheel that that they make for both the GM products and the foreign vehicles........... that way MOMO guaranteed there was enough material to mill the centerbore on the "GM Version" to fit the H3. This was a very time consuming process and momousa.com (cust service number) was very helpful in getting me a wheel to fit........... PS We ended up going with 22's.........

It is actually my son's Christmas present...... just arrived this week. Wheels are on, need the chrome side steps. I got some really nice Katzkin leather seats off of ebay. They get installed this week.

Want to adopt another son?? JK. Looks cool, though I'm probably not going with anything bigger than 18" on mine. This is one of the better looking H3/big rim set-ups that I have seen.

I actually have a thing for the MOMO wheels. They have some of the best quality out there! I have had them before and swear by them. I went to several of the larger tire/wheel locations here in Houston and tried to find wheels, but all anybody could show me was a couple "off-brand" wheels and the couple that were on SMA. But He was not looking for an "off-road" looking tire. Anyway, the milling was easy and at least there won't be any/many people with the same wheels on their H3!!! There should be a lot more coming onto the market in the first quarter of '06 as a lot of the H3's are hitting the street.

I had to mill for another one of my vehicles. It is one way to know you may have one if not the only wheels on the specific vehicle. These look great by the way !!
