Police Chase Through Atlanta Ends in Arrest
POSTED: 11:49 AM EDT October 27, 2004 UPDATED: 1:16 PM EDT October 27, 2004 ATLANTA -- Police arrested a man Wednesday morning following a chase that winded through Midtown and Buckhead. The suspect, whose identity was pending, was being held at the Fulton County Jail, where he has been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle and several traffic charges, said Sgt. John Quigley, a police spokesman. Police said the incident began around 9 a.m. when the suspect allegedly stole a green Humvee sport utility vehicle from a home in Buckhead. Police later spotted the SUV at 401 17th Street but the driver fled after two plainclothes officers approached the vehicle. Quigley said the man tried to run the officers over by shifting the SUV into reverse. The officers managed to get out of the way of the oncoming vehicle and were not hurt. Quigley said the driver drove over a police squad car and struck at least one other police vehicle before driving from the scene. Police used a helicopter and squad cars to follow the SUV, which was pulled over in the 1700 block of West Paces Ferry Road. Police said the man tried to assault an officer while they were taking him into custody. |

Ya'll got so much money over there you think you can go around running over police cars and stuff. Now we know why you have the SC and the RD UCP |
Ken? Green? No way.
Anyway, it would have been an adventure shooting my .44 left-handed out of the driver's window while giving chase! |
I wonder if the "police squad car" was running video at the time?
|
How in the blue hell can you tell that is

There's video with this one:
http://www.wcpo.com/news/2004/local/03/07/chase.html Driver Of Stolen Hummer Leads Police In Hot Pursuit Reported by: Mariah Gray Web produced by: Neil Relyea Photographed by: 9News 3/7/04 6:18:39 PM The driver of a stolen Hummer took Sharonville police on a high-speed, high-risk chase Sunday -- and it was all caught on tape. Sunday's chase begs the question yet again, when police are involved in a high-speed chase and it puts the general public at risk, should they continue or call it off.... |

LMAO, looks like a Blues Brothers chase. I like how the article states:
"...Quigley said the driver drove over a police squad car..." |
