Quick whine sound when going from park to drive?

I had something new happen to me last week in the H3, though it doesn't happen each time. Twice during the week and once today. When I start up the H3 and put it into Drive from Park .. the doors lock (as they are programmed) and then there is a quick whine sound. Very quick. I THINK it's coming from the locks as the 3 is put into gear. It caught me off guard the first time and I thought I just breathed heavily ...LOL. I put it back into park to replicate the sound, but it didn't happen. Twice it happened in the morning after its first start, but then today ONCE it happened midday after a few starts had already happened throughout the day . Has anyone had this happen yet?

something like that would happen to me several months ago, but it went away by itself and hasnt come back. When ever the doors were locked, not just with shifting but also with the button, a quick whine sound came from the drivers side door. I traced it as much as i could an it seems that the thing where the door latch is would make the noise. Probably was rubing or someting like that when the little tab moves in/out while locking/unlocking.

Have your Driveline/Prop shaft checked.

My does the same thing, the whine sound from drivers side door lock. Doesn't sound alarming or damaging to me.

Sometimes when its very cold the lock (mechanical part) binds even though the electrical actuator operates and you are then hearing the motor of the actuator going against the resistant lock.
