Re: HID Parts List For My H2
That looks right. I got the 6000k version with the member3 coupon code discount. Don't know if it's still valid for the $10 off.. As far as the LED bulbs...don't know...
Install of the HID was a cake. But you'll have to adjust the headlights so they're not blinding people.. :) |
Re: HID Parts List For My H2
Thank You Doc.
That sounds great I guess I'll go with the 6000k however I would really like to figure out something on the DRL leds or I am just going to order the headlights alone. Sounds good that I'll have to re-aim the headlights because too bright will absolutely be a better problem then too dim. Thanks, Earl |
Re: HID Parts List For My H2
I installed my Starr HIDs and I didn't know there was an adjustment beam feature. I was driving for 5 months and not 1 car flashed their highbeams at me. Then, when I moved recently, I have to drive down a 2 lane street. Everyone was flashing me constantly. At that point, I knew maybe it was me.:giggling:
Took 5 mins by adjusting the projectors lower & all is well.:excited: HIDs make a huge difference vs. the regular halogens. Additionally, everyone should upgrade and get LED lights inside their interior. What a difference it makes especially when you're trying to look for something @ night in your truck. Good luck. |
Re: HID Parts List For My H2

Re: HID Parts List For My H2
Yep.. those are them.
If you're going to do the DRL mod those are the best match that I could find. |

Re: HID Parts List For My H2
Ordered My HID kit and LED's today. Very helpful people and I even got a 10% discount off the kit.

Re: HID Parts List For My H2
Warning: DRL LEDs do not give off any usable light. It is a very small amount of light. I know I tried them. Plus they will burn out and flicker within a few months. The ONLY mod for DRLs that will significantly increase light output from the DRL location is to take out the stock DRLs and replace with a full 4" HID enclosed assembly from ebay. This will about double your light output.

Re: HID Parts List For My H2
Pteam is correct. I have some amber LED like the ones pictured and are not as bright and some of the LED's have burned out within months.

Well I already ordered these, but I started looking and I think I want to find a modified fog light assembly or a HID assembly like in the pic but until I do these will work. If anyone has a link to a HID that will fit in the fog light housing I will include in the write up. I had my achilles put back together and I am going to have a lot of time on my hands. |
Re: HID Parts List For My H2
I have the 8K hids and the same LED bulbs. No problems yet and have been on for about 2 years now!!! God bless ebay!!! LOL

Re: HID Parts List For My H2
Ok HID's went on easily and I absolutely love them.
The bolts on these trucks are galvanized and you have to use a wire brush on them to get a good ground connection. I plan on including this in the write up. The light had the ring on them that said open and lock and also had 9004 and 9007 arrows in the same place. I noticed that if you slide the lights to lock completely then they were loose in the housing. Is this normal? LED's look great, they are bright even in daylight. They exactly match my friends 6000K 35w hid, however they are slightly bluer than my 55w 6000K HID's. I was very impressed with the kit. |
Re: HID Parts List For My H2
OK, stupid question time... When you go HID do you only have one headlight setting (i.e. no low and high beams), and so long as you use the stock headlight wiring to turn on the HIDs does the automatic headlight setting still work? I've read through the various HID threads but it never hurts to make sure.

As long as you buy the "Bi-HID lights", everything works normal |
Re: HID Parts List For My H2
I've got the Retro-Solutions 8000K Bi-Xenon kit and it is very nice. He is easy to work with (Todd) and a lifetime warranty never hurts either.
