Re: Slotted roters - what kind to get

Good to see this place up and still going! I came here because I couldn't remember what brakes I had gotten for the old h2, just that they were the best I'd had.

H2 is gone. Sold it local so still...

Re: Are We All Fading?

Wow. bump from the past. I'm here. Sold the Hummer in November, 2016. Sad day but it was time. Never owned a vehicle even close to that long, and already had three since I sold the H2. Actually, two...

Re: First vs Second Gen Hummer

Ya I was looking last night and noticed the increased torque numbers also.

I also noticed the ridiculous price tag on the 08 SUTs! Good God. I could buy an 06, strip the interior then sound proof...

First vs Second Gen Hummer

How much better is the 08-09 H2 driving experience?

Is the gas mileage any better?

Rattles?

Same basic 'gremlins' the first gen have or are some gone?

I know I can test drive one - but I'm...

Re: Brake System Suggestions? Went 135k on factory

I don't know about entire systems (as in complete package) but it's been said around here for years the best thing you can do for your breaks is stainless lines.

That said, I put slotted rotors,...

Re: When adjusting the keys

Adjusting down should be do-able with wheels on the ground. Adjusting up, not so much. At least in my experience. That said, if your truck didn't drop after 1/2 a screw length of adjustment you might...

Re: grease fittings location

If you replace your idler arm get a MOOG and it will come with a nice extension tube you can zip tie right up front for nice easy access with your grease gun.

Re: Steering Question - Any way to tighten it up?

^^ While that may be true, it's not the only thing that will fix sloppy steering. Pitman and idler arm would be the first thing I checked

There's actually a list of tests you can do for each front...

Part number for trailer wire houing

It's the piece that fits on the rear bumper, and has a spring loaded lid.

My lid broke off and I'd like to replace the housing.

Re: How much oil does your h2 burn?

Just mileage? It has to consider hwy vs. stop and go and I would think a few other traceable driving metrics.

It's concerning to think I could have put in generic oil and gone 6800 miles between...

Re: How much oil does your h2 burn?

Well I poured the old oil into the 5qt bottle the new oil came in and filled it, but that's it. So, I was a quart down.

I've got it filled and double checked the level after letting it sit all...

Re: How much oil does your h2 burn?

I'm going to change the oil today, and keep a close eye on things.

It seems I might be burning oil only when I'm topped off to the full mark. Once down a dot on the dipstick I don't seem to be...

Re: How much oil does your h2 burn?

That what I thought mine was going also. Then I added a half court half way through the oil change and now 3k later it's down again.

It's almost like I don't go through any oil unless it's topped...

How much oil does your h2 burn?

How much and in how many miles?

Mine seems to be burning 1/2 court every 3k or so.

I fill it with six quarts and new filter at oil change time. I've read the 6.0 vortec is known for burning oil,...

Re: Parts and Part Number help

With the cognito support kit, and all the other new parts, at 50k it was like a new truck.

Worst job I ever did myself. Such a PITA with no lift. Took me over a day to get just the pitman arm off....

Re: Oil.... synthetic to conventional?

You don't burn any oil? I don't have leaks, at all. But I do burn some oil.

If you put 6 quarts in with a new filter- after 5k miles you're dip stick still reads to the top dot???

Thanks for the...

Re: Parts and Part Number help

I did moog upper/lower/tie rods and a bunch of other moog stuff I can't recall this moment. Got it all from rockauto.

It's your lucky day. Had the file close by. Here you go! Hope it helps!...

Re: More profession tranny cooler install

Tanny shop? I'm pretty sure you'd need flaring and pipe bending tools unless you went with a steel braided type line.

Is the 08 THAT much better than the older model?

Re: Slotted roters - what kind to get

I've had mine for a few months now and I absolutely love them. That combined with steel braided lines is a great upgrade and huge improvement. I can't believe I waited as long as I did!

Oil.... synthetic to conventional?

I've been using Royal Purple since 22 or 24k miles. I've noticed though, the I'm going through about a quart every 6-6500 miles. At the price of RP, plus the extra court, I could put conventional in...

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor

1 1/16" deep socket worked fine.

Used a 1/2" swivel on what was probably a 4" extension for a total of about 6".

It's a bit tight, but once you find it and get your method for reaching it's a...
