In fact, which engines are made by GM that are not basically assembled by hand?
Let's see, I have spent some time in a few engine plants, and spent a lot of time in BG, so I know a bit about Vettes.
Do I need to make a comment in regard to quotes from Edmunds. com or Motortrend.com. Both good places, but nothing you stated in these cut and pastes from their websites, contradicts anything I have mentioned. They do show that you get your information from the Web, while I get mine at work.

As for moronic postings, let's look.
You believe in a site called "how things work." I don't, but I'm not a moron.
You believe Chevy makes the LS9 engine? I KNOW for a FACT they don't. But you believe they do...talk about a moron.
You believe if you purchase the H3 Alpha, you will get a better suspension. You won't get any better suspension than what is on the standard H3. Only difference is it will be beefed to accomodate the higher weight. But in the end, it will equal itself out.

Now, Snappy, is there anything else you wanted to say about morons and posting? (PS I have been called a hell of a lot worse than a moron. ).
Well, time to get back to work; the "Devil" is waiting and she is very "Blue."

hmmm, I'm just a little confused here ....

How is it that this is from the Chevrolet web site....

"Inside every Z06 is an LS7 aluminum-block V8. It puts out an SAE-certified (Society of Automotive Engineers) 505 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Hand-built at the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich., the LS7 engine contains a litany of racing-derived components, such as an eight-quart dry-sump lubrication system, titanium valves and connecting rods, forged-steel crankshaft with six-bolt main bearings, high-profile cam, and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machined heads for better air/fuel flow. Even with its performance, the engine does not incur a federal government gas-guzzler penalty."

Yet you claim to be such an expert on all things "GM"

Lets see. I claimed it was Hand Built ----> Yup, says so right there.
You claim it was not built by GM, but wait, there it states it is built at the "GM Perfromance Center in Wixom, Mich" huh.....

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/

Maybe I just don't see your Genius here....maybe, when GM says that they hand build the motor to different specs with different components than a standard LS, they actually mean they use a crate motor from some mystery supplier. So, either you don't have a clue what you are talking about or GM is purposely lying to us.

As far as the whole notion of "Hand built", yes, I will agree with you that they are all hand assembled to a point. The original posting was that they are not simply putting a bigger engine into a Z06, but that the engine is special and that GM did a host of other things to that version of the Corvette.

I am new here and don't really know you, so I will shut up on this point. But it seems to me that your information does not square up with what is publically available information.
