GRIFFIN, Ga. — Four people were killed and two people were injured on Friday after the driver of a truck was driving in the mud and struck two trees.
Two people survived the crash, which authorities said was a result of alcohol and reckless driving. Georgia State Patrol Trooper J.T. McMillan said the vehicle, a Ford Bronco, burned completely.
The names of the victims are not being released, but include the driver, a 24-year-old woman, a 36-year-old woman, a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. The children were riding in the back seat of the vehicle.
A 36-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy were expected to be taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
McMillan said the truck was likely traveling at about 70 mph at impact and that no one was wearing seat belts.
