Watch the first 20 minutes or so of Saving Private Ryan and ask yourself if anyone could function successfully in such an environment (thus avoiding all or some of your entire unit getting killed on the beach) unless that person had successfully dealt with adversity like that shown in the video. Personally, I believe the troops on the beach would die if they hadn?t essentially survived hellish circumstances in the past.
