You'll always find these idiotic Hummer Hating ramblings at other websites.

Odd how you never see Jeep bashing topics started here.

So either we are more Mature, or they are indeed the envious little bitches they act like.

I for one never see anyone here claiming that a Stock H2 can out wheel a fully modified Jeep. It'll out wheel a stock jeep without a doubt.

The thing they fail to realize is that we don't own H2's STRICKLY for their off road performance. H2's offer a balance in on road performance and luxory as well as great stock off road performance.

I'm not sure how they are even able to call them Jeeps after they strip them down to nothing and rebuild them.

Also for the record, since I'm too lazy to register on thier board and point this out, and I'm sure they are reading this thread.

The ratio of Wheeled H2's to non Wheeled H2's is FAR LESS than the ratio of Wheeled Jeeps to non Wheeled Jeeps.

hello all:

Just wanted to bop in and say hi.

funny how people get so bent about their rigs.

To each their own I say.

Have a great day.

PS I drive a slightly modified Jeep, and hereby invite all of you to come camp and wheel with us at Independence this weekend.

YO!

I don't see what the problem is. We all share the common interest of wheeling. Some rigs are modified SWB packages that do well on the rocks. Other rigs are better suited to desert running or green lanes. It doesn't matter, so long as you're enjoying the scenery and trail.

If people want to bash the Hummer on their site; it's their business and it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I have a lifted Chevy truck that I love running through the mud. Do I suddenly become a latte-sipping yuppie when I hop in the seat of the H2? Maybe in some folks eyes, but I'm not concerned about the negative people in our sport. My vehicles are American and they get me through the Winter's snow and moderate trails that I enjoy. The H2 serves my family's needs, but I don't consider it the ultimate off-road vehicle nor do I look down on any one driving another make.

In fact, I hold a ton of respect for the guy or gal that does their own build-up. I may not enjoy rock crawling, but I appreciate American ingenuity. Besides, I still have pictures of my old '81 K5 Blazer - recalling the countless hours spent under its frame.

Enjoy the trails folks!

hey yall. I dont think they are just saying this stuff in CO. I think its all over the coutnry. I mean i live in FLorida, and people are saying it. I keep hearing that the h2 is just a big tahoe. some call it the T2, My buddies dad has on and he calls it a T2. Something is wrong here. Also an H2 CANT out do a Rubicon, and its not heavily modded. its from the factory with the same crap you guys have. they did a comparison on the 2 in one of the 4 wheelin magazines.

Hey done get mad at me. Im just repeating what ive heard. i want to keep you guys posted. oh by the way, did you guys get your new star bucks frequent shopper cards?

The main difference between the Hummer crowd and the Jeep crowd, is that a good number of Hummer owners have owned or wheeled a jeep before, and therefore have a good idea of the capabilites of both.

Not many Jeep owners can say the same thing.

Detonate,
Great point. I've owned 4 Jeeps before. Those guys on that site are hilarious. It a red-neck extravaganza! Actually, it's pretty embarrassing from a Colorado resident's perspective.

It's it funny that on the Rubicon TV commercial, that have to have a little disclaimer stating that it is a modified vehicle. I have yet to see this in an H2 commercial.

things that make you go hummm. (er)

Actually, the commercial you're talking about is the Tomb Raider Edition Rubi, which most definately is a modified vehicle.

There are a few of you H2 guys who do wheel them. Personally, I think it's awesome that you wheel them. I think the "bling bling" crowd really gives you guys a bad name. Recently I saw a lifted H2 on 24's and the thing was like half chrome. A buddy of mine said it would "kick my ass" off-road. I laughed my ass off at him.

I think the H2 commercials are pretty interesting as well. I saw the one with soap box derby racers the other night, where the kid builds his to look like an H2, then cuts across a bunch of switchbacks to win the race. REAL good example of trail etiquette right there.

BTW, here's a pic of my Jeep.

Alec,
I think you did see him. Here is his post from the co4x4.org thread:

quote:
I ran into a couple H2's up at Twin Cone a couple months ago. They were taking some of the easier lines up the trail, but at least they were out there.

H2's in general are pavement pounders, but I do respect the guys that actually take them off road. The guys that think a dirt road is wheeling though, yeah right. I saw an H2 commercial that PISSED ME OFF last night too. It was a soapbox derby type thing down a bunch of switchbacks. Some kid does up his soapbox car to look like an H2 and then tears down the hill shortcutting all the switchbacks. And we all wonder why we have such a crappy image. Don't even get me started on the Honda ad that says make your own shortcut or whatever it is.

That woulda been me! Didn't we run into you guys coming the other way where that Wrangler broke down?? From what I've heard, the trail was open all the way to the top shortly after we were up there. There was still about a 3ft deep snowfield for a good 100+ft right after that little dirt hill that brings you up over timberline. How far did you guys end up going up the trail?

Here's another one of my ZJ, I made a little foot peg with a harley peg to put my foot on while wheelin. My leg got burned pretty decent that day.

To my knowledge, the G500's count the t-case as a locking diff, which every t-case Jeep has made outside of the 249 Quadratrac (or QuadraCrap as I call it) put into ZJ's between 93 and 95. The Tomb Raider Edition Rubi jeep sells is essentially a Rubi with cheesy parts on it. The one in the movie itself is modified quite a bit.

EDIT: someone had made a comment relevant to the above, but now I don't see their post!
