It's funny that you had phrased it that way, RYD. When I lived in Miami, most of the Cubans I knew would at some point say, "I'm Spanish by way of Cuba", or, "I'm from Cuba, but my family is really from Spain". It was the weirdest thing. Why not say, "I'm Cuban from Cuba." ?
