ARLINGTON TX - "A Union Pacific locomotive veered into two railcars traveling on parallel tracks Tuesday, triggering a derailment that left one of the railcars hanging precariously over a busy freeway and tying up traffic for miles, officials said."

I was told this morning that the derailed train car was carrying H2's stacked 2 or 3 deep. If that's true it may have been top heavy. I don't know where the train was headed (or where from).

Oooops. Don't panic. I am now told the report said "High dollar GM SUV's" and apparently it's Escalades and Denali's, not H2's. Sorry for the false alarm, but nobody had read it yet anyway. Hehe!

I'll just go back to sleep now.

Jim...

Already seen report on the news this morning. Our H2 is supposed to have build date of 12-16. My wife and I looked at each other an said "OH SH*#"! Then I told her it couldn't possibly be in Dallas already. Hopefully no H2s in accident.
BTW isn't there a GM assembly plant in Arlington?

I was northbound on 360 about 5 minutes after it happened and luckily made an exit before getting shut in. Some people sat there for hours...

I didn't see any H2's, just freight cars on the bridge. Must have been a slight wake up call for the guy the debris fell on!

That highway and overpass is only 100+ yards from that plant. I couldn't imagine any H2's anwhere near there.

http://www.nbc5i.com/news/1842553/detail.html

Officials say one of the trains' cars was dangling over the overpass as a result of the collision, and was held in place by only the guardrail. The car was reportedly carrying Army Humvee vehicles.
