Does anyone here know if the on board compressor is stronger than a aftermarket one?

Local dealership tie-monkey told me that the on board compressor is the strongest in it's class for the H2.

I asked about the aftermarket one sold in the H2 accessories catalog and he said that the on-board on is better and is rated to pump up the H2 tires..the aftermarket one won't fill up the H2 tires..

Is he just blowing smoke?

Thanks
Larry

I went with PhilD's suggestion.

I bought a
Scuba Tank: $100
First Stage: $50
LP Hose and Valve: $20

I can go from 20 PSI to 50 in about 30 seconds.

I may be incorrect here, but I seem to recall reading that GM went with the 4-20-20 rule. Four tires to 20lbs in 20 minutes. I have not tested this and can not remember where I read it.
Some help, huh?!

Yeah, Alec is correct. The First Stage connects to the tank, and this is where all your hoses come off of. The Low Pressure port gives air at 150 PSI. More than enough to fill your tires up very fast.

You can also get other attachments to run Air Tools, etc... Off of the tank.

I'm not sure how many tires I can do on a full tank (Which is 3000 PSI, by the way) But I'm guessing it's a lot.

Tank fills are around $5 and I've never had to show my C-Card to get an Air fill before....

Sounds like a neat idea!

The last event we had, towards the end....I found myself surrounded by a bunch of H2's that did not have air-compressors. While everyone ran off to enjoy a nice dinner & drinks...I had to stick around while parasitic H2's sucked off my air. I didn't air-up myself until after dinner!

Sounds like a neat set-up, perhaps something to watch for at garage sales?
