It's an all-aluminum engine filled with exotic engineering, such as titanium connecting rods and intake valves, sodium-filled exhaust valves, a dry-sump oiling system, a forged-steel crankshaft and computer-machined cylinder-head porting. Horsepower and torque are a mind-bending 505 and 470 lb-ft, and it's all routed to the Vette's massive 19-inch rear tires through a six-speed manual transaxle.
You want more? How about brakes so large they can be seen from outer space, a full aluminum chassis, carbon-fiber front fenders and a magnesium engine cradle? The Corvette's removable roof panel has even been fixed in place to save mass and improve structure."

"The second-generation Corvette Z06, unveiled for 2006, serves up two fewer cylinders than the Viper but forsakes nothing in thrust or presence. The LS7 all-aluminum, 7.0-liter small-block V-8--hand-assembled using premium hardware like titanium connecting rods and a dry-sump oil system--is GM's most powerful production car engine ever, delivering 505 fire-breathing horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The rest of this special Vette is equally top-drawer: lightweight, all-aluminum chassis; magnesium engine cradle; carbon-fiber front fenders; six-piston cross-drilled front brakes. Hey, did this thing come from Bowling Green--or Lockheed?"

As far as the pricing goes, this was a tongue & cheek thread that you obviously did not get. Yeah, they guess $35K, but I would probably think that it will be impossible to get one for that. As another posted, the dealers are going to load them with a ton of garbage to jack up the price even more.

Hey Snappy, before you call someone a moron, make sure you read what they posted; or should I say, "Understand what they posted." "I really love the one about the ZO6 engine being assembled by man. Guess what, they are
no more assembled by hand then
any other engine GM makes." Now, after you read that sentence, tell me which engine GM makes for the Corvette that is assembled by a machine? In fact, which engines are made by GM that are not basically assembled by hand?
Let's see, I have spent some time in a few engine plants, and spent a lot of time in BG, so I know a bit about Vettes.
Do I need to make a comment in regard to quotes from Edmunds. com or Motortrend.com. Both good places, but nothing you stated in these cut and pastes from their websites, contradicts anything I have mentioned. They do show that you get your information from the Web, while I get mine at work.
As for moronic postings, let's look.
You believe in a site called "how things work." I don't, but I'm not a moron.
You believe Chevy makes the LS9 engine? I KNOW for a FACT they don't. But you believe they do...talk about a moron.
You believe if you purchase the H3 Alpha, you will get a better suspension.

You won't get any better suspension than what is on the standard H3. Only difference is it will be beefed to accomodate the higher weight. But in the end, it will equal itself out.
Now, Snappy, is there anything else you wanted to say about morons and posting? (PS I have been called a hell of a lot worse than a moron.

).
Well, time to get back to work; the "Devil" is waiting and she is very "Blue."
