Default Re: Police chase

I know! Its a play on words to justify thier actions and to amp up the other officers. He never hit one of them (from what I saw) they hit him - which is totally what they should do to disable him.

They knew he wasnt a danger or they never would have goten out of thier cars. Have you ever watched a cop get out and run into the live of fire when they knew he was armed? NO! they take cover and take aim like they should. They knew he was just trying to run and wasnt going to really hurt them so they didnt get him boxed in and he kept evading and then it was all over when the one cop emptied his clip into an unarmed man.

But your right Dennis, its easy for me to sit here on the side lines and call shots of rights and wrongs as the rage probably would have taken anyone over by that point. But again, I dont think he ever intentionally tried to ram or hit any of the cops. But I cant see the whole vid but a majority of the action.

I had a neighbor in Plano TX once, and while they were out of town a friend stopped by to feed the dog and let him out. When leaving they forgot to secure the front door and it was left adjar. The security alarm went off and the local police responded where they were greeted by a old yellow lab. He growled at them as they made thier way to the house front door and 2 officers unloaded thier guns on the famliys pet which was a 10 yr old sweet yellow lab who only growled at them in defence of his residence. He never charged or anything just growled and they emptied two clips into him just because they "felt endangered".
They could have called animal control or sprayed him with pepper spray (as they had it on them and was later questioned as to why they didnt use the peppey spray) and they said they felt "eminently endangered". Needless to say they family was devistated when they came home to find the family pet had been slaughtered.

That being said, police officers regardless of training, are human just like you and I. They feel rage, anger and even racism. Some can control it, some can't. They have a very stressful job and put their asses on the line more in one day than some of us do in a lifetime.

If I was on that guy's hood, I would have shot it up and killed him too.

Because by that point, rage would have taken over.
