141519.6 Kbps - You 141519.6 kbps

Boy I should start my own ISP... Don't mind me, just entertaining myself. What has me baffled is I have my connection stretched to the max right now and it keeps getting higher.

That thing is bogus. I went from 278 to 17000. Pretty impressive for a T1 (1500 kbps max).

Try the one at 2wire. Link

I'll go climb back under my techie rock now.

It's probably because your computer cached the information...I hit 31000....but both times I did it properly, it came out around 1440kbs

Easiest way to figure out how much bw you have is to divide the number the company says they give you. 4mb = 400k cap, 10mb = 1000k cap, 512k = 50k cap, etc..

Unless you can find a data center very close to you for a test you will likely get numbers all over the board. Caching really isn't a concern cause you are sending and receiving packets just to get a generalization of speed. I honestly don't think any of them are ever very accurate. Best way is to do the math yourself.

http://www.wugnet.com/myspeed/speedtest.asp

this one says I'm at 6.3Mbps

they're all wacked. I am paying for a 5Mbps feed but that's download the upload is usually capped to something below T1 speeds or 1.5Mbps
