Re: Lights won't go off in Park?
Check for a jumper wire inthe underhood fuse block from the drl relay to the headlight relay

That's what I meant before when I said the fuse block in the engine bay.....
Looks like someone most have played around with that.
BTW... I know it might be a stupid question.. but you do know that the DRLs only come on when you take it out of PARK right??
Just making sure we're not missing anything bro.

I appreciate the help guys.
I do know the DRL's only go on when its in the drive and they are off in the park position.....but thanks for the heads up.
I put the car in drive with ebrake engaged and got out to check the drl's - confirmed not working. They are amber, not like that matter, but kind of weird.
I will check the fuse box for the jumper in fuse box under the hood.
I'll check it tomorrow and update the thread there after.
Thanks again for helping me trouble shoot this problem.

It says Canada on the door sticker.
The light sensor is not covered, but the dash is after market carbon fiber with a after market NAV as i mentioned previously in this thread.
The head lights stay on and the DRL's do not ever come on. Obviously a wiring issue.
The question is how do i fix it?
I appreciate the responses.....HUMTECH you sound like you know a lot about the wiring.
Thanks for your comments

Checked the fuses. All DRL fuses are not blown.
There is no jump from the DRL's to the heal light relay.

Re: Lights won't go off in Park?
Well after re-reading parts of this post the drls wont be the cause of your prblem. If they come on as soon as you start the truck it must be an ambient light sensor problem. The bcm is thinking its dark out therefore turns on the auto headlights. Best guess would be sensor problem without being able toactually check scan data in person. I would check to make sure the sensor is properly seated in the dash and that it is plugged in

HUMTECH - Any Idea how I can check the ambient light sensor?
The dash was obviously removed at some point when they added the after market nav and carbon fiber dash surrounding the NAV unit.
Questions - How can I check the ambient light sensor without ripping the whole dash apart?
Thanks for your help

Re: Lights won't go off in Park?
Humtech - I didn't even realize you are actually in Canada.
I am pretty damn sure that the truck came from Canada.
It has to be that damn ambient light sensor!! You hit the nail on the head.
Now how can I fix it?

Re: Lights won't go off in Park?
You might be able to reach it through the glove box opening i cant remember. Make sure its plugged in. If it is without a scan tool and checking it out could be the sensor, bcm or wiring in between

Thank you once again.
I am pretty sure it is the wiring because the lights will not operate from the light switch. They are on 24/7 if the car is on.
I will check in the glove box and see if I can see the sensor or any wiring.
What is BCM?

Re: Lights won't go off in Park?
Okay, tonight I was going out and the lights went off. It was almost dark. I flipped the light switch to the on position and they still remained off. I was not dark yet. So I went to take a drive. The lights remained off, but then I got to where i was going and the lights went back on and I could turn them off by putting it in the auto position on the light switch. Pretty strange.
Now Its dark out and I can see the auto switch lite up on the light switch, but they will not go off.....maybe because it is dark outside??
So, I got a flash light and shined it in the ambient light sensor and nothing.
Could not get them to go off at all. Totally driving me nutz
Any ideas? loose wire? That would be my guess?
HUMTECH - any suggestion?
The light is lite up on the light switch on auto (green) and off (amber) .......i'm trippin

oh wow.... hmmm.
There is no way of telling then, there has got to be a switch or something for them. Try playing around with the computer and tell them to turn off as soon as you turn the engine off, no Delay on them. I dunno.... something has to work. Good luck.

OKay, one problem solved with the computer I got the lights to go off in the park position as soon as i turn off the engine and pretty much remove the key. As lone as the key is in the off position the lights go off.
I know its from Canada (Canada H2's you can not turn off the drl's) and HUMTECH was right - i think the lights have been jumped from the DRL to the headlights. Sometime I can turn them on and off other times they are just on all the time...no turning them off.
Anyways, I will figure it out eventually.
