Interesting. I'll have to give it a listen.

Sure you heard it on Squizz? Damn, three songs with Beer on Squizz. I wonder what they're thinking?

Oh yeah, I know what they're thinking at 4:20! LOL! The spot they play during that time is funny.

he he he... I have a great story behindthat song which involves me hanging out with Jason Newstead of Metalica for a little while with me dressed in a kung-fu outfit with a paint on moustache and a sombrero... I slammed some beers, then went on a local radio show in disguise and did an interview and got "Soft Taco" reviewed... Good times!!!

I will post the MP3 - I recorded the whole thing... The trick was that I knew the radio show fairly well as I had written music for them to use as a theme song. I had been on quite a few times and even told the producer than my own band sucked (in digiuse) and pissed her off....

I hate to admit this, but better late than never. Before Squizz, I had never heard of the band "Soil". The locals never played them, and in Dallas, there's nothing good that's heavy, unless it's the Bone late at night.

It seems like Squizz LOVES Soil! They play them a bunch and I can't believe I've never heard of them. They kick so much a$$ it's not even funny. That group is a good combo of a bunch of group sounds. I love it!

Ah Jason Newstead. He was my favorite in Metallica. The guy just knows how to play and have fun. Sad to see him go, and sad that I never hear anything from his projects on the radio.

As far as bass goes, my favorite right now is Fieldy from Korn. SLAP that bass baby! Damn he rocks.

Friday morning is Drunk Bitch Friday for Lex and Terry, my friends in Jacksonville, Florida. They play the "Drunk Bitch Friday" theme songs we wrote for them all morning when coming back from breaks. You can either listen live on the internet or download itunes for free and search for their podcasts (free also-listen on your own time). I call in the show every now and then to talk band smack...

Ryan, the singer from Soil, quit the band and is now singing for Drowning Pool... Just dumb trivia, but Drowning Pool, The Burden Brothers, and A Dozen Furies all practice in the same rehearsal building as us. We've had Kirk Franklin pay for us to move out for a month (we're kinda noisy) and have had The Dixie Chicks, Erika Badhu, Andy Timmons, and more as neighbors...

Lately all I've been listening to is System of a Down and Shinedown. LOVE 'EM BOTH!

Kick a$$ he was one of the "combined" bands I was thinking of mentioned above! Drowning Pool, especially in the Soil song "Halo". That's awesome! I didn't know he moved there. Can't believe he quit the band, but then again Drowning Pool has more of a fan base.

Thanks for the trivia and the DP news!

Shinedown is very good, and I think I'm going to get lynched, shot, beheaded for saying this, but I just can't stand System of a Down. I take that back, I can't stand the singer for System. I like Chop Suey and Sugar and call me crazy, but my favorite song by them was a remake, which was The Metro. The band itself can kick. I love their sound, but the minute Serj opens his mouth, I cringe and just want to throw something at the radio.
