Re: Great results from PCM for Less tuning . . .
I put in my reprogramed PCM Tuesday. Tonight I put in fuel. After 187 miles, I was able to squeeze in 9.6 gallons. You do the math.
Most of this winter I was running between 17.5 and 18.5.
My opinion; Truck runs easier on the highway. Takes off better and shifts cleaner. I'm happy I did it.

Re: Great results from PCM for Less tuning . . .
I took a trip over to Helena from Great Falls. Just to put my drive in perspective Great Falls is over 3,300 ft in elevation and Helena is just over 4,000 ft. To get to Helena you have to cross the mountains, so I would say I was climbing some grades that ended up being 4,500 -5,000 ft. The shifting was great going through the mountains on the interstate.
On the way over I was getting alot of head wind also, the wind was probably at least 40 mph coming head on. Had that wonderful flapping with the marker lights. The wind is blowing 30 mph outside now.
I did 173 miles and got 14 mpg with the 315 tires. I have a little over 312 miles on the pcm now.

No problem.
Stock 06 with adventur package.
Sock tires. 285/75R16
I picked 2 for the shift points, towing above 1500 lbs, high altitude, regular fuel.
I do mostly highway driving, and live just over 4000 ft.

Westhillsat - got some more feedback, now that you've put a few miles on with the mod?

Re: Great results from PCM for Less tuning . . .
Not much else new, other than I have to watch the foot on the gas.
Very smooth and if I don't watch the dashboard I'm over the speed limit in no time.
I took off my marker lights today and put alot of 3M automotive tape on the base of the lights, I'm just going to keep the truck in the garage this weekend and give the adhesive time to set.
The trip to Moab via Denver will be the big test.
When we go to Moab I'll take the radar detector along. Seriously, prior to adding the dual exhaust and having the pcm done for me it would have been kind of silly to have the detector in the truck.
Now it is like a totally different truck for me.

Re: Great results from PCM for Less tuning . . .
Hey West I went to Napa and bought a tube of black window sealent. It was about 14 bucks, but it worked! Finally! I recommend it to anyone with the a-pillar problem. I did it abou ta month ago and didn't want to say anything until I was sure it worked. I hit 90 today in a headwind with no noise.

This thread at one of the other Hummer forums was started by someone with a manual trans. He's happy!
He is HummerGuy over there and the link below is the third page.
You can read the whole thing, but his post near the bottom of the
page starts with him getting the tuned pcm back and how he likes
it.

Re: Great results from PCM for Less tuning . . .
Certianly sounds interesting. If PCM would offer a discount to forum members it would be worth a try for testing.

Re: Great results from PCM for Less tuning . . .
X2
I asked them for the discount and they would not offer it to me, so I didn't buy one. I will not buy one until they offer the same discount to us (as the hummer forum). I see no reason why I should pay more just because some of our members (who have every right) do not like thier product. I don't care what anyone says that is the reason they have not offered us the discount.
It isn't the money it is the principle of the matter.

The only problem with that is the people who don't like it do so without firsthand knowledge of the product and/or wanted to wage a war of words over H3 semantics. As far as I've seen, no one who has actually tried PCM for less has had anything negative to say.
So in other words it's a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face....

This is very true.
Furthermore we have been back to regular pricing for quite some time now, no matter what site you post on.
