Default Tranny fluid

Can anybody offer some advice on changing the tranny fluid? Like what filter to use and where to get it, dex3 or dex4? That kinda thing. Also how difficult is it?

You will never get all the **** out of the tranny by just draining it. It should be power flushed out.

At 50,000 miles I had the dealer do the transmission fluid. At 100,000 miles there were no Hummer dealers around and took it to AAMCO and had the power purge flush done for $109 where they disconnect the cooler lines and flush the transmission and put new fluid in. It was about the same cost as doing it yourself and I avoided the mess of doing it myself. You will find many opinions about AAMCO, but I've used them on some of our company trucks too and been very satisfied with them! This is one job I would recommend leaving to professionals.

At least it did not take a crap after Aamco. You would have felt they did something when they flushed it...

DEFINATELY use the newer GM Dexron-VI spec fluid. Don't use the older fluid spec below this.
