Underhood Blanket
Just took a look at the price of the underhood blanket for my H3
and found the price from GM Discount was about $89.00. That is
a deal because the retail is about $104.00 .... BUT if when you
figure in the $36.00 for shipping, this is NOT a deal ... I can order
it from the dealer for less money than thru the GM Discount site
Just food for thought

If you offroad it will get wet and muddy.It will be hanging down in no time

I don't think it does much from a sound insulation standpoint. Firewall insulation is where most of the noise is muted.

it could help the paint be keeping some of the heat from the engine at bay, maybe, so it does not crack later on down the road.
just a guess though.
