Default Door Courtesy Light Bulb Replacement

This bulb went out this morning and I would like to replace, I need some conformation as to how I can do it. Looks like the light will pop out of the door, but I was unsure so I wanted to ask. If it does pop out do you just pry at one end or should it slide back and out... I find myself more and more cautious as parts become harder to find.

Thanks

Man, you are to cool... not sure if I should try to pop it out or if taking off the door panel is a better bet. Does it come off pretty easy? Or do the fastners need to be replaced after you pull the door... I remember some of the chevy door panels in the past when you pull them the fastners (door pops) would break or distort so it would not hold tight anymore. All that for one bulb

Thanks for your posts man, you are really good at covering things in detail, and pic's to match.

I was able to just pop mine out. Theres a detent on one side, just push against with a wrapped 1/4" screw driver to slide it forward. Then pry a bit and they pop out.

sorry to bump an old thread but...

I'm in the process of swapping all my interior bulbs over to LED's. Now so far everything has been cake in removing the lenses minus the small step/courtesy lights at the bottom of the pillars and the door panel lights.

Has anyone removed the door panel lens before? I saw a pic from the repair manual but it doesn't show much and it seems the only other advice any one has is to remove the door panel. I'd rather not remove the door panels just to replace the tiny 194 bulbs-seems ridiculous in my mind.

I've tried everything, gently prying all around the perimeter in case there's a sweet spot to pop it out but NOTHING! Also the same is for the small opaque square lenses for the rear step lights-can't get those lenses off either!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. These are the last lenses I need to remove before I order all the LED's.

I'm coming to the conclusion the only safe way to remove the door bulbs is to pull the door panels and for the step lights it to pop the pillar trim off??
