Minuteman1636 is on a distinguished road
Default Let me introduce myself......Minuteman1636

Well, I?ve been a 2008 Hummer H3 owner for almost a month now. I?ve been a member here and on another couple of boards for about as long. I figured I would take a minute and introduce myself so that you know a little about me.

First, I will explain my user name ?minuteman1636?. Residents of the original 13 colonies that were of military age were required to report on a ?minutes? notice to defend the colonies from the British. These able bodied men were thus referred to as ?minutemen?. These Minutemen were the first members of what eventually became known as the National Guard. The first formal assembly of ?minutemen? as recognized by the Army National Guard was in 1636. I am active duty in the Missouri Army National Guard and currently in my 21st year of service. As a result of my military affiliation, I chose the user name ?minuteman1636? to reflect the history of the Army National Guard.

I?m 37 years old, married to a wonderful woman and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. My wife and I both grew up in Kansas City. We married in 2003, two weeks before I began a 17 month deployment to Iraq. Two military moves later and we have ended up in Jefferson City, MO.

My hobbies are studying military history, shooting in firearm competitions and now, my H3.

So, I?m glad to be here and look forward to developing some lasting friendships. Here is a little H1 SOCOM HMMWV eye candy for you. I took these pictures while I was in Al-Kut, Iraq in 2004.
