Has anyone else found the outside temp reading to be 4-5 degrees off? I know it should only be used as a referrence, but could be useful in winter to watch out for ice on the road.

Sounds like we we have a couple of bad sensors or mirrors. Going to check out the local GM dealer to see if they will warrenty it.

My temp read-out on the mirror seems to be 3-4 degrees off. If your 30-40 degrees off you may have it set to read Celsius, hehehe!

It was a good thought,(had me stumbling out the door in a heartbeat), but it's Degrees F. I've watched it jump form 35" to 90" in less than a Minute. I understand the sensor is mounted in the bumper and is failing.

My mirror uses the numeral 9 where it should use the numeral 4 when the temperature is in the 40's.
38 -> 39 -> 90 -> 91 -> 92 in the morning.
51 -> 50 -> 99 -> 98 -> 97 in the evening.
See my post in the general discussion forum. I guess we need a software upgrade?

Mine does the same thing, but only when I'm stopped or idled for a while. However, once I'm underway again, the temperature goes to the right setting. Don't you think the huge shift in temperature reading might be a result of heat from the engine?

Same problem with mine too. Took it to the dealer and they will replace the mirror. Can't figure out the problem.

Me too! It's kind of funny to have snow on the ground with the temperature reading 98.
Reminds me of the islands ......

After the mirror was replaced the problem went away. The Tech said they have been replacing several, Bad Mirrors.

This is why I like this forum. The outside temp display showed 27, then 47 and back to 31 in a blizard. I am going to get the mirror changed as soon as it is time for service.

Maybe the problem could also be (in temp. increase) that the sensor is in the bumper and the engine heat could make it warmer.

To rapid of a change for A J or K type thermal couple--or any thermal couple for that matter--Would venture to guess they use a grounded junction type to give a stable/steady output to prevent erratic readings.

Get it through your heads: this is /not/ a sensor problem. It's simply lighting an extra freaking fluorescent bar. When it tries to write a 4 it makes a 9, and when it tries to write a C it makes an E. OK? Get it? It's not a sensor problem, it's not a calibration problem. Thank you... Next please.

You are correct--it isn't a sensor problem, it a bunch of bad mirrors. And it's more than A LED problem...Bad Mirrors, Bad Mirrors, Straight from the dealer, pay attention here H2XOR--Bad batch of mirrors.........I have had NO problems since it was changed out.
