If you can tear yourselves away from the mud slinging thread, I would appreciate your knowledgable and stylish feedback. I am removing ALL chrome from my, soon-to-arrive, 2004 Pewter H2. Your opinion on the front grille color would be appreciated (see this and next for photos):

Has anyone seen a picture of a Red on Red?
I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but have been waiting for the factory painted grills to come out.

Oregon???? You are far enough away to not feel threatened by my rig!!
Only joking!!!
Do you have a brush guard (which one?) on your rig?
When will you be installing your NEW grille and will you post pics?

Did I just miss them?

I have not found your red grille but there are several (pewter-on-pewter, black-on-black, black-on-pewter, and yellow) at ebay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2444510492
Scott at www.hummer-parts.com (http://www.hummer-parts.com) will sell you the grille at $308.00 (shipping & tax incl.)
IF you promise to a)post a picture of your rig (post install) on this site and b) email him a pic of your H2 with the grille installed. This offer is only for pics of colors NOT available on the site above.
Sounds like a deal.
You can reach him at 800-650-4036, or sales@hummer-parts.com

Sounds pretty reasonable. I'll send this over to my wife as my Christmas Wish list...
The problem is that I really want to see a Red H2 with the Grill installed, BEFORE I buy one. :/
We'll see.
Thanks for the info though. Much appreciated.

SFRcaster, sounds simple, but let me just make sure. I have a black Hummer, I want to buy a black grill. Since they have a black on black photo on the website, that means I have to pay full $368 not the discounted $308. Right?
Is this grill available from our forum store? Price$ I think I need to shop here first.
PhilD's estimate of 20 minutes installtion does worry me, do I want to prove to myself that I am a lesser man than PhilD? 20 sounds way too low for such task.
BTW, why is your place called "Striper Coast?" is it striper as in striper, female who takes off their cloth professionally? is it because there are a lot of stripers in your town? or it has a deeper historical meaning or origin?

Hey 3D Guy
Can you do a orange on orange?
Oh I forget to vote. Pewter on Pewter
My vote is pewter on pewter. Clean and simple, straight forward no-nonsense Hummer character. Black on pewter is too complicated, feels like fancy footsteps or one too many note in a perfect song. Pewter on pewter can't go wrong, but black on pewter has risk of 50/50.

I like my chrome on pewter http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif,
Second choice would be black on pewter.
I think pewter on pewter is boring http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

You got it right!!! No discount for you. Sorry I didn't MAKE the offer, only delivered it. I placed my order today for the Pewter grill. It seems most written responses favored pewter-on-pewter, but the poll recently jumped to 50/50 split. (someone is obviuosly messin with me).
As for Striper Coast, it refers to and cross references my screen name SRFCASTR (Surf Caster).
Surf Casting is a method of fishing from the beach and covers a wide range of methods:
LAZY MAN
a) casting a chunk of bait out into the surf, laying on a lounge chair drinking beer after beer, waiting for the one dumb fish to swim by and eat it. (I wouldn't get caught dead doing this)
CRAZY MAN "Extreme Surf Casting"
z) Hunting the trophy fish by crawling out on rocks in the middle of the night or donning a wet suit and swimming to places that cannot be reached by casting (again in the middle of the night). THIS is my passion and my new H2 will get me there. From Cape Cod, MA to Cape May, NJ.
My wife continues to purchase more and more life insurance as she hears details of my exploits.
Stripers or (see below) Striped Bass are the trophy game fish targeted and prized by this band of crazies I fish with. Great fight, good eating, and ever wary!!
Sorry to dissappoint the pervs who were hoping Striper had all to do with exposing body parts!!

Yeppers, this is exactly what I want to do with mine, the grill is on the way as noted. Mine is a lux and I am having a hell of a time finding mirrors and door handles in black at an acceptable price. Did find a local guy to powder the stock tires in a crinkle coat that I like though. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Yours looks great, I am glad you don't live in my hood so I dont look like I ripped off your ride. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My grille is a factory black HUMMER grille, it is not a painted over chrome part. My truck is a 2003 (my second) and I bought the grille recently. [Anyone want to buy my chrome grille?!]
I'm considering getting my skid plate anodized black by Brite Lee but I'm thinking it's gonna get scratched up anyway.
