Yes, I put them in my 03. You can buy the light kit, brackets and wiring harnes, if I remember right for around $250. I got a good deal on mine so don't know retail for sure. They will try to sell you the new bumper end caps that already have the holes cut out but I just dremmeled the holes out. Just make a template of the back of the light and cut. Saves you about $150. On a scale of 1-10 this job is about a 2 in dificulty.;)

Here's the end cap they will try to sell you, but with the hole cut. Just cut your own hole.

The Hummer dealer here just had these sitting around in a box with brackets and wiring harness. I installed them a ways back so I don't remember what he told me retail was. I know my dealer called me and wanted me to get the part # of the harness because others came in and wanted to do this mod and they couldn't find part #'s either. I'll crawl uinder my truck and pull the harnes out and see if I can find the # for ya. I think the light kits were $67 a piece retail. Like I said earlier don't buy the 2 end caps it's a waste of money and kind of a bitch to get off. I'll get back to ya.

thanks alot dont suppose you would have a email address of a good hummer dealer handy so i can see if shipping a set to me would be cost affective instead of buying from the rip off dealers over hear in england

Did the same mod.
Got the parts online though, a lot cheaper than the dealer...
Try www.alldiscountparts.com
I think you have to email a guy named Dusty because the part is not in the drilldown.
The lights were about $45 a piece and I went with a pigtail to hook it up for another $25 I think.
Tell him what you need and he will find it,I'm sure

Dear working Hummer,
I am guessing I need 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and probably 23 (if 23 is different than the harness for the 2003) from the GM diagram. Does that seem right to you? Thank you. Great post, BTW.

Be well,
Ron

all I can tell you is I finally crawled under the truck and the part # for the harness is GM #88966140. It just plugs into the back of your trailor plug in, up under rear bumper. It came with the wiring all attached to it, just plug into trailor plug and the two lights. I have no idea what the bracket and tail light #'s are but those should be pretty easy to find. The harness # seems to be the tough one to find, so there you go. Now I have to go take a shower from crawling on the underbelly of the 2.

I used 2 3-wire pigtails from GM, but you could just as easily use 2 generic 3157 socket/pigtail set-ups. Installation article pdf available via e-mail. Too large to post here.

Hmm, that seems strange since the part had that # on it, my dealer is the one who gave it to me and I did a search and over half of the places I visited had that part. :notallthere: Seems strange. Gm-Auto-Parts.com for $112.00 is one place.:giggling: :D

My dealer got in that harness # for me, but the ends of the harness have a strange looking weather lock connector on the end, it doesn't just plug into a bulb, any ideas?'

The harness I got had that big end on it with the 2 light socket wires tailing of of it. That big connector end plugs into the trailor socket under the inside of the rear bumper. Actually you unplug the factory harness from the trailor plug (up under the rear bumber) and plug the new wiring harnes into the plug on the bumper then plug the factory harness back into the new harness. All in all it's basically an inline coupling. It's tougher to explain it than it really is.

Then again I can just order the parts from my dealer on the bumper caps and the lights... What year did these come in ???

did you order the harness or hard wire the harness in ??? I dont want to hard wire anything because it'll void my extended warranty ...

I understand the big harness just goes inline with the outside plug to give you the needed wires. The two harnesses that go outwards to the bumper lights do not look correct. There is not a way to plug a bulb in them?? It is a weather lock clip like terminal on the ends. Am I missing something? I do not have the lights yet, as I wanted to check out the harness first. Thanks in advance.

I have an extended warranty too, but I hardwired mine into the factory harness. I got the lamp sockets with the triple pigtails from the dealer. But Marius did the same set-up as me and got some after-market sockets and tails. It's just a generic pair of 3157 sockets. Of course Marius found it easier to pull the entire bumper to do the installation. Not for me, too manly! :giggling::giggling::giggling:

JimmyJimmy, if those are Weatherpack ends with 3 conductors then you are in good shape. They plug directly into the sockets which should come with the lamp housings and bulbs from GM.

My dealer had an old box with the lights, brackets, and harness all mixed together in open packages and wanted to get rid of it. I dont know if they were from a later year truck, a tear out or what. All I know is all the parts came together and worked.
