Hi There.....

I hope that you all had a good time while you were at Tellico. Iam the guy in the red Off Camber shirt running around directing traffic on the hill. Sorry about the delays on the trail. Its normally not that bad. You did happen to come on the 2nd buisiest day of the year. Just to let you that Dixie Run is the most popular and that will happen in September. You might want to look at www.sfwda.org (http://www.sfwda.org) for more information like trail maps and events that are going to be large in that area.

Just wanted to thank Ken and Paragon for stopping by our forum and having a chat. We get a kick out of everyone wheeling those beasts. I thought it was great to see you all out there. If you need someone to show you around more trails in the south east let me or our club know and I will make arangments to show you all around.

For the newbies out on the first attempt at wheeling don't let what you saw on the trails stop you from coming back. We hope that we can get our club and a few of you with us to take you to the trails and show you around.

Thanks

www.offcamber4wd.org (http://www.offcamber4wd.org) Thanks Matt. Glad you stopped by here. Hang around here and check things out. Our dysfunctional little forum can be quite fun sometimes.

Thanks again for your help out on the trail. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Matt,

Glad you stopped by. You guys were great and we really appreciated it. Yes, we were frustrated Saturday due to traffic issues but that was completely made up for by how cool you guys were and our run on Sunday. It was my first time out, I was in the blue H3, and I have to tell you I am hooked. I would love to learn about more trails down this way. Any recommendations in south GA or even better yet, in FL.

Like someone said before, stick around, this place and be a lot of fun.

You were great- you should be President Luckie. In fact, change your handle DO NOW!!!

I appreciate your efforts Saturday. It couldn't have worked out better, it still sucked- but would have been a lot worse had you not stepped up and did your thing.http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

BTW- We went out Sunday and had a blast.http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Definitely hope to see you down there again.

rofl thats a good one.

It was great to meet all of you. We'll definately have to do it again sometime.

PS I looked at my camera and the pics of us going up 5 Sat. morning were at 10:00. We finally made our way up past the Jeep mess around 10:45. So how far behind that were ya'll?

We stopped at the middle and top of 5 for at least an hour picking up litter and never saw ya'll or the gravel truck before heading to Fains Ford.

We were above that set of little obstacles where there was that tree root on the driver's side going up and just below that narrow short chute for at least 2 or 3 hours.

HEHEHE..... Funny thing is the President of SFWDA came to me later that day and asked if I would be the PR director for them. Iam thinking about taking the job.
If anyone here is thinking about going to Tellico again, please PM me and let me know. I will try to meet a group of ya'll and lead you around.

Hummer Newbie .... Iam not too sure about FL trails but there is GrayRock, and Morris Mountain in AL. There is also RiverRock near Macon, GA. Let me know if a group would like to go to any of those and I will see what I can do about calling the owners of each for ya.

Yeah thats it. The ones here are cool. They lease land from Road Atlanta and built a bunch of baddass obstacles designed for hummers. Lots of long steep, hillclimbs, deep water holes, side slope obstacles and v-ditch type stuff. Been twice, once in mud, great time always. Sorry you wont be able to make this one.

Hmm not too many on my truck, the big one one the d-side was a fence post http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif lol (dont ask) the rest are from various rocks and trees.

Here's one I got Sunday. I didnt realize it until later that night at the gas station b4 I went home. I figure it occured coming into the creek on Fains Ford off the ledge or taking the "fun" line into the creek on 5. I remember hearing a bang on both drops but never noticed the dent until later, so Im not real sure which place it happened.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b234/4lo/IMG_2143.jpg

Knocked off the zerk fitting, also some scuffing around the pinion yoke. Probably when I high centered exiting the creek at Fains Ford.

Hey everyone, finally have my connection again. Had to download almost 300 posts. I am in Ft Lauderdale area now. I am really bummed we did not do Sunday but Mona was in a lot of pain.

By the end of the day on Saturday my frustration level was very high, I was to cranky to do anything on Sunday. I really feared a repeat of the chaos Saturday. I guess in retrospect, I would arrive Saturday and wheel Sunday through .....

The a-holes on Pirate really got to me. But we really did talk to a lot of good people there.

Anyone interested in an April event? Are there any parks in VA? We can try Rausch Creek.

By the way, my shields are still on. Taking them off tomorrow and really don't expect to see any damage. We'll see.

Here is a decent shot of what the root on trail 5 did to my door. It creased it from just under the window at the front downward to the bottom rear of the door. I slid into the root, being stupid, and then goosed it again came off and slid into it again a little further down the door.

Door still opens, window still works, so it stays and qualifies as rub rash.

I finally washed mine today and my damage is minimal. Slight rubs on my rims, small scratches here and there on the paint and a well rubbed rocker bar.

I think i may have some problems mechanicly though. I have a funny noise coming from what seems to be a steering component. If i had a dealer within 2hours i would bring it in, but i might just live wiht it for another week and see if it goes away.

Well I got my dents in the rear driver side door fixed. He got most of it out going through the back behind the door pannel. He only charged me $256.00 sine he didnt get it 100%. No one can see it unless I point it out to them now which is fine witrh me. I am just going to leave the dent from the gravel truck as a tellico memory! They couldnt get at it and would have to do body work and paint. Do care enough to bother with all that and I expect that if I continue wheeling it, some dents are inevitable.

I alos needed an allignment so I had the dealer install the fabtechs.

Total $ spent =/- $400.00 on trail damage. I feel the trip was well worth it and will go back again.

I will bring a shovel and put rocks in ditches that may cause slides into rocks/roots though.
