Hey guys,
My 03 H2 is sitting really low on the drivers side. Anyone have any ideas? I have 2+ inches of fender gap differnece between driver and passenger side. Is this common? How do I diagnose?
Thanks,
Eric

One or both of the air bags is probably leaking. They get old, dry and crack.

the bags leak when they get old.they sure as hell do ,and just try and buy a replacement set at a fair price. as a matter of fact the part number must be a closely guarded secret because no matter how many times anyone ask's around here you never get a response. I need a set for my 03 and even with my discount the price is too high.and I can't find who makes them for GM. and there are no after market bags yet. GM parts direct doesn't list them . I buy bags for ford expiditions for $145 a pair all the time . some times I think I might just put coils in .:crying:

I sprayed down the bag today with Soapy water and could not find any leaks. However Keep in mind that I could not inspect the whole bag as I did not put it on a lift. But GM Parts Direct does have them. What I cannot believe is that the Dealer does not stock them. That is crazy.
Part numbers are as follows. All can be found on GM Parts Direct Web site
Air Spring Part #15838306
Height Sensor Part #15124929
Level Controller Switch Part #15058259
Pump Relay 15319851

Does it level out when driving and just sag overnight? Or is it always leaning? Service air suspension message displayed in DIC? Could just require a ride height calibration. Tough to diagnose from here with no scan data.

It is Always leaning. Service Air Suspension Waring is on the DIC as well. I am going to put a Snap-On Scanner on it tomorrow morning and see what I get. I spend my whole day today working on the Boat and my wifes Durango. I will let you know if I get any results.
IRA try this:

No message on DIC,but it drops down on the passanger side after sitting 2 hours sometimes . start the truck and it leveles out . the spring on GM parts direct is for a coil spring .

I dropped it off at Hummer Of Cincinnati Monday night. They called me in the morning to tell me that They did not find any leaks and the Computer is telling them the drivers side ride height sensor was not reading. So they had to order a new one along with a new harness that GM states it should be sold with the Sensor. Then they need to update the software and recalibrate the ride height. Net Net is that its going to be $500 to fix. I will keep you posted if anything changes.

It can be done without the jumper harness but gm does recommend it. Each tech to their own though. Some wont sway from the generals recomendations. Ya just need to cut away the shrink wrap on the connector at the old sensor and it unplugs then reroute the oem harness so that it will reach the new sensor as the sensor configuration has changed but the connector is the same.

Got it back the total bill 2as $480. Sensor and Harness. Software update to Version 6? Humtech. What exactly does the software update do for me? Benefits of it??
Thanks,
Eric

Calibration updates are mainly for small flaws in an operating system, as they are identified engineers write new programs to correct flaws not unlike windows updates. Newer air suspension systems are non programmable and if someone attempts to program them they will kill the module. Only on the dual compressor systems though.

That didnt even sound clear to me, let me re word that. Dual stage systems are non programmable, single stage are. If an attempt is made to program a dual stage system which i believe came out in late 04(could be wrong) the module will become in-op.

I noticed today that my driver side air bag is empty no air at all. Driver side sensor was replaced about a year ago by local hummer DEALER !... Both air bags fill up and car levels out side to side when I push the height control button. No leaking . But for some reason driver side sensor is not working correctly it loses air out from the drivers side air bag when driving over ~ 50km/h. And it becomes very unstable to drive. Passenger side air bag works fine but its got a lot of stress because drivers side not working...I have had nothing but problems with the damn air suspension :( My truck is -03 with rancho 4" lift No message on DIC
Is it normal that drivers side sensor is like it is in this pic? or does it even matter after the system calibrated

Is it possible to reset the air suspension by my self ? Disconnecting battery for+15min ??but what happens if I do that when height control is activated its the only way to get the truck level on flat surface? When I push the height control button does it override height sensors? I tested the drivers side sensor and it fills the air bag if I remove the rod and dial it as much anticlockwise as I can ? . I had dead battery problem couple days ago could it cause this ?

You need to get the faulty sensor replaced and then a trim height learn procedure is required for the system to operate properly. Requires the tech2 scan tool for the learn procedure, no way around it unfortunatly.

this makes me want to change to steel coil springs when my air springs give up all together. the after markert could make a killing by makeing bags and ride hight sensors .

IRA51, I went with the coil springs after having my share of "service suspension" troubles. Can read about it here if you'd like. http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24471

Thanks ED, mine never gives a service air spring on the DIC,but the air springs have that dry cracked look near the bottom ,I'm sure it's just a matter of time but I don't have the time to mess with it now it's boating season .
