I did not adjust torsion bars but I did buy a ventvisor sunroof deflector,it goes on with double sided tape(3m).It cuts wind noise down alot.

I had the dealer go 3/4" under level from the rear and realign the old girl. I have not noticed any wind noise, but I live in SD and the only time the wind stops is when it changes direction.

I have noticed that the truck does handle nicely off road raised up and the stance does look a little meaner. My pregnant wife complains every time she gets in, so I got that going for me too.

Thanks for the info. 3/4" lower than the back should be about right. I really don't like the look from the factory but I guess there is a reason for it. I will see if they will adjust it Monday. Did they do your alignment right then? Do you need to wait to let it settle in a bit?

humdoug 02-09-2006 06:25 PM

I made the adjustment myself, lifted the front tires off the ground and turned the torsion bar bolts clockwise 2 1/2 times each. I waited for 100 miles before I had it aligned. One side was out a bit but not much.

GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone say for sure if this can potentially give the dealer a reason to decline any warranty claims?

I took mine to the dealer and told him I made the adjustment. I asked if it would become a warranty issue. I was told no. He also told me it looked GREAT.

Pep boys has them under $50.00.They usually have to order the larger ones in.I forgot the part # just look at one of the smaller ones they have instock and theres a chart on it for part # and sizes. easy install and matches the window visors.

I made the adjustment myself (2.5 turns), did not tell the dealership when they alligned it, nor did they mention it! it looks much meaner, and drives nicely!

Good to know. I may go ahead and do it this weekend before dropping it off on Monday.

jp's-h3 02-12-2006 03:41 AM

I highly recommend it, very easy and looks MEAN.
If your not going to lift it, it will also fit those 35's much better!

HummerNewbie 02-13-2006 01:31 PM

I raised it 2 turns this weekend and it looks great.

jp's-h3 02-16-2006 11:19 PM

Here are a couple of pics after turning 2.5 times!

LET IT SNOW!

HummerNewbie 02-17-2006 01:10 PM

Asked them to do an alignment when it was in on Monday for the DVD/marker light install but they said they couldn't yet. Have to wait until it has at least 500 miles to do it. Oh well, have to take it back when the part they ordered for the sunroof comes in and will have 500 by the end of the weekend.

I guess I suck at using the search here b/c I keep coming up short on pix. Can any of you please repost your before and after or any side-by-sides etc?

NM H3 02-21-2006 01:24 AM

Just did mine 2.5 turns, and got about 1.5" of lift. Took all of 5 minutes. Looks much better.
