right under the driver and passen seat area, Lay down in that area and you will see the cross bracket running across. the bolts are in the bracket. You can see the T-bars running down to that area. Jack up rig in the front middle to get front tires off the ground.(floor jack) ,,,mark adjustment bolts with a sharpie ,1 mark on bolt 1 mark on surrounding metal so lines match. Turn clockwise desired turns, Most are doing 2-1/2 turns,,me too. Drop jack and your done. You can measure here to see your results,, before and after, 2 turns is about 1 inch. If its a uneven measurement drive it first for a day or two and remeasure. I had to turn one of mine about a 1/4 turn more to match them up after a couple days.

Careful..... Ask Bebe about cranking them up. She's having a problem with that after the dealer did it.
|
what problem is she having? it sounds like quite a few people have done it tho so one problem in the bunch is bound to happen

She can give you more details, but she said that she's getting weird noises as a result. |
interesting... i have dealt with all the weird noises you could get probably haha... she might have a loose tie rod, or blown body mount. at least those are 2 of the noise issues i have corrected :P

I just got back from my morning adventures at the dealership diagnosing the noise issue.
The shop foreman took a drive with me and heard the sound I had been trying to describe. Put it up on the rack, while I'm enjoying my cup of coffee in the waiting area, he comes over and says, " would you like to come back and see what is going on with your truck?" My heart sank......I was trying to be stong. We walked back into the shop and there was the patient, Bebe Rhino lifted way up in the air. He walked me over to the her, said "watch you head" as he lead me underneath the truck, then asked me to turn around and to first look at the gas tank cover....it was pretty flat. As in smashed. Then he asked me to look at the cross member...it was bent. He then showed me the UCP and how it was bolted on. In front, where it is bolted on the the second skid plate you could see how it was higher on the drivers side. The second skid plate is also smashed ![]() In installing the UCP they had a difficult time getting it on, because everything was out of whack. But they installed it anyway. Apparently the noise was the second skid plate binding, and causing a rattle when I hit a bump. So they took the UCP back off, and with cro-bars and pry bars, got everything as unsmashed as they could, reinstalled the UCP and guess what.....no noise!!! Or at least it is much better and less severe than it was. They said if I want it to totally go away, they would need to replace the bent crossmember. So the moral of the story??? The torsion bar tweak had nothing to do with it.....and....... I blame it all on Sewie ![]() ![]() |
whats a ucp?

Wha?!!?!?! ![]() Couldn't have been me. Must've happened on the DV trip. ![]() Does this mean I can blame you for my t-case and front diff? ![]() |
Think about it, you always go first....I just follow
![]() Most likley Hollister and BRD. ![]() |
this is why i'm lifting my sh!t! I'm paraniod about bottoming out and "smashing" or "bending" anything underneath!
I'm glad they found the problem Humm! From your description they seemed cool about everything. |
i dont understand how you bottom out unless you are going fast... if you are crawling all you will hear is scraping.. right?

That's all part of the fun. ![]() Seriously though, you're gonna hit something underneath at somepoint, even with a lift. It will just be something taller. ![]() |
