03 A/C Issue Eating Belts BAD Rattling Noise HELP! PLEEESE..

OK, we are having a massive heat wave and this is a VERY serious issue!!!:crying: :crying:

03 H2 with 60 miles on it. we have owned it for 1 year. in the last 4 months, we have gone through 3 A/C belts ( we are on #4 as of last night) the belts keep breaking.

When A/C is running are idle, everything is fine, at about 1500rpm you get a nasty rattling noise. We figured out that the belt tentioner was doing the rapid bunny hop and making the noise.

OK fine, we had the tensioner replaced. New belt. Same problem. Since the new tensioner 2 more belts have broken.

Funny thing is the A/C works fine WHEN THE BELT IS IN ONE PIECE!!!!!
and when the rpm is below 1500 or above 1750.

One more thing....it's intermittent:mad:   Most days it makes the sound but sometimes it does not.

SO, any ideas? Could i have just gotten a "dud" tensioner? Could there be another issue?

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED......I'm dying here :(

1 make shure you clutch fan is good so it pulls lots of air across the rad and condenser
2 get the condenser clean and free of bugs and dirt
3 have the compressor checked ,replace if needed with a new or rebuilt one.
also if your over charged it can cause the compressor to lock up when it is hot .

OK WILL DO

2 get the condenser clean and free of bugs and dirt
SAME HERE CAN DO

3 have the compressor checked ,replace if needed with a new or rebuilt one.WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY CHECKED? IS THIS NOT A CASE OF IT WORKS OR IT DOES NOT? CAN IT WORK INTERMITTENTLY?

also if your over charged it can cause the compressor to lock up when it is hot .I DON'T THINK THIS IS THE ISSUE AS THE AC SEEMS TO WORK BETTER AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A WHILE EI 15 - 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING WITH A/C ON

.

if the compressor is starting to go bad it will be harder to turn and break a belt. I assumed you checked the tensoner and it was good .
