After little success with the find button and even less in the tech forum i figured i would post my question here. Is it really worth to add slotted rotors or are they just a hoax? Thanks

They will probably keep brakes slightly cooler, and that's about it. What's the point of upgrading if you got ABS anyways? None of the aftermarket setups offer a notable difference in 60-0 stopping distance, so this proves that ABS will not allow them to perform any better for stopping distance.
I think the only worthwhile upgrade, (unless you got thousands to blow on Brembo setup) is to get steel braided hoses to get rid of the spongy feeling caused by the rubber lines. They also offer a bit more protection in that area. |
It's been stated on this forum, I believe by HGW, that the larger rotors and pads don't do a thing for stopping distance initially. However, they do help in preventing brake fade over time because they stay cooler. In turn, this will make the aftermarket brakes work better over consistant and repeated hard braking.
If you're not nailing your brakes like Earnhardt Jr at Martinville, then you probably don't need them. Even if you have larger aftermarket wheels. |
