I had planned on getting 325/60R20's (Nitto Terra Grapplers) on a 20x11" wide rim. I've seen this set up on an H2 and I think it looks almost perfect w/o a lift as the tires stick out more than usual and he has no problem with rubbing.
Now here's my question. I've seen that some of you guys run the 37x12.5 BFG or MTR's w/o rubbing as well. I just came across this tire from Toyo that is 355/60R20. So it's essentially a tad taller and wider than the 305/60. I checked out the specs of each one and I'll list them below. 37x12.50R17 - 36.8" tall - 12.5" wide 305/60R20 - 35.2" tall - 12.9" wide 355/60R20 - 36.8" tall - 14.2" wide So it appears that the 355/60 is the same height as the 37" but about 1-1/2" wider. Anyone want to guess if this will fit w/o a lift? If I have to lift it I'd go with 38's or 40's as I prefer the full wheel well look. |

Here's a pic of the 325/60R20 on a 20x11" rim.

Not sure about fit but depending on the back spacing on the rim it may still rub, it really depends on the rims you choose I have even seen the WRONG rims on trucks and they hit the inner fender well in tight turns.
I ran 285x85x16 and 265x75x16 on a unlifted 3/4 ton Surburban with no rubbing so its possible. |
Nice, do you loose any ground clearance on that set up?

Any ideas anyone?

I just installed a set of 20x10 Racelines with 325-60-20 Nitto Terragrabers and they fit fine. They do rub in the front only when you turn all the way left or right. Its only hitting the plastic wheel well a bit, not too bad.

Here is one more! BIG-C

H2, I believe the 325/60 Nittos are only about 33" tall. They were installed on mine at the dealer. I took it back and they put the correct one's on, 325/65. If I remember my math correctly, the 65's are a few hundredths taller than stock.
Nevermind, that applied to 18" rims, not 20's. http://www.ringpinion.com/calculators/calctireh.html |

I live 40min away from you. |
NO - fronts will rub of road on moderate trail activity.

Phil, I remember reading somewhere about guys removing their swaybars when they wheel. Apparently it allowed for more articulation. Now I know the truck will "sway" more, but have you tried it or seen it done? If so, what was your impression?

Since you are local email me with your number so we can have lunch or something.
