I also would 2nd Hummermann's vote for a 2008+ h2. You wont have a hack job, or spend all that cash and not be able to recoup alot of it when you sell. The 08s and up have 80 more hp or 25% more, 2 more gears or 50% more gears (makes a big difference) and tows 1600 more pounds or 24% more. It sounds like you only need a bit more, and I think all these things could make the difference. I routinely get 14 mpg in my 08 h2 and can hit 15s on the highway (not towing). The 2008s and up are way more refined, literally everything about it that is changed is much better.
