I think Lynch has one '09 left and Sewell has two, but then you run into the parts and service problems if they stop manufacturing them and the dealer up here is hanging on by his fingernails anyway without new inventory. If I don't see a new H2 come out by March I might be forced to just park my H2 and keep it for fun and buy a new Navigator for my daily driver.

I also would 2nd Hummermann's vote for a 2008+ h2. You wont have a hack job, or spend all that cash and not be able to recoup alot of it when you sell. The 08s and up have 80 more hp or 25% more, 2 more gears or 50% more gears (makes a big difference) and tows 1600 more pounds or 24% more. It sounds like you only need a bit more, and I think all these things could make the difference. I routinely get 14 mpg in my 08 h2 and can hit 15s on the highway (not towing). The 2008s and up are way more refined, literally everything about it that is changed is much better.

I agree that it would be better but what it would cost me to upgrade to an '08 and then do all the mods (liftkit, etc, etc) it would be cheaper for me to do the diesel conversion to mine.

I've already started pricing everything. Hopefully I'll be shipping my truck to Mash motors in Kansas soon enough.

Mark,
I have to agree with you that the diesel is a perfect application for the H2. I think if AMG would have produced the H2 without GMs oversight we'd have seen a diesel from them by now. As for power, I agree with everything said already, the '08s and up have much more power and tow easier, but if you like your truck do what you're going to be happy with! I plan on keeping my H2 a long time since they seem to be getting rarer and rarer on the roads these days. Cartype.com is saying GM is giving Tengzhong and AMG a hard time with engine and drivetrain delivery promises for future H2s because they don't want it competing with their Escalade and Tahoe.

I really like this H2 and the thought of buying a 2 year older truck and having to do the mods to bring the truck to my standards would be ridiculous.

I've found the parts I need and have already contacted Mash motorsports to make arrangements to get them the truck. I'll keep ya'll updated when something concrete comes about.
