I went 4wheeling with my wife and kids this weekend. Since it was in the high 90's and dusty, my wife didn't want to get out and take many pictures. So, I only have a few.

Hummer Man where did you get you auto mechanic's certificate? How do you know what is good or bad for an engine?
Number one, the mud would have been dry before I left the trail.
Number two, I was two hunderd miles from home and could not clean the engine.
Number three, I own my own pressure washer and turned the pressure way down before cleaning the engine, besides being experienced in its use.
Number four, judging by your use of emphasis, you think others are stupid and you have superior intelligence.
Number five, by considering the number of people who don't like you on this board, I would say you have a complete lack of savoir-faire.
Number six, after the pressure washing, my H2 started right up and has been trouble free since.
I apologize if I misconstrued your message, but your belittling approach will not win you any friends.

I think may well invest in some, as it took me forever to get all the scratches out last time as they were pretty deep. As anyone tried covering the tops of doors with a couple of layers of masking tape to help prevent scartches up there, as that is where I get the most?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
next time we go out I will just wrap your entire H2 in Duct tape...the color is similar to the Pewter...

Of course there is MUD there! If air can get out (and of course it has to) MUD CAN GET IN!
Presure washing is NO GOOD for your engine but is necessary now that it has dried on there.
When you first get back from off-roading always open the hood and very gently rinse the engine compartment down!

My Gibson headers arrived today and I opened the hood to begin the install and found a surprise. The whole engine was coated with mud from my last 4wheeling trip. I had to get out the pressure washer and clean the engine compartment before I could start the header install.

H2 Daddy, those are some cool pics! How do you like the panel covers? Easy to install? Does the install leave any scratches?
I'm looking forward to taking my kids off-road sometime soon. It's kind of like Hummer Disneyland for them

It has been dry around here lately and hence the reason for a lack of a real good mud job. Don't you worry, after a good rain I will apply a thick coating of mud on the H2.

I had a shield blow-off on the way home. Only one came off and my wife heard it happen, so we found it when we turned around and went back. No real damage to the shield. It came off because the shields for the front doors are a little big and they do not leave much of the door showing so the tape can get a good grip. I am going to trim the front shields a bit so the tape can stick to the door on the front edge.

I got them from ptking.com for $450, but you might get them direct from the manufacturer, Truckshields.com. I don't know what they charge.
