Any sales people out there? We are trading in our 2003 H2 (Lux) with 21K miles for a new H3. What might I expect for a trade in value? I do not have a loan on our H2.
The last H2 we traded in had 34K miles and it had the Adventure Package. I got $36,000.00 for the trade, which seemed reasonable at the time.

Retail to Retail, wholesale to wholesale.
The problem is you won't get retail for the H2, and you'll pay retail for the H3.

Well, KBB says it's worth $37,200 on trade but it seems that every damn dealer wants to give the auction price instead.
Also, the H3 I'm looking at is $38,200 retail (plus an extra $4,800.00 for "market adjustment"). Well, screw the "market adjustment" but I think the chances of me paying $1,000.00 OTD for the whole deal is unlikely.

Private sales will bring more money, because they don't have to safety smog and advertise the vehicles they take in on trade, plus they are not looking to re-sell them right away....

You're probably right but the only car i really miss is my old 1955 Porsche Speedster. Perhaps because I worked on it myself (had to all the time). Oh well, time to buy all the goodies for the wife's H3!

After the awful experience I had at Dobles Hummer in NH tonight I'd say you got a decent offer from them. I have an 03 H2 with 51k highway miles. It has everything but the air suspension and has NEVER seen even a day off road (yeah I know its a shame). It has a dual screen dvd and an aftermarket sunroof (perfect job!) as well as all the other factory add-ons. They offered me $24k in trade towards an 06 H2 and basically told me that mine was "useless" to them and that they really didn't even want it. When I told them that the trade in value was awful and that they ought to be making it up on the other end of the deal he informed me that he was, by giving me employee pricing. The same damn pricing that I can get from any Hummer dealer...He can keep his!!! Anyone want an H2???

In the beginning we had $5k mark-up, then we had $1995 now they are at sticker. I mean in the beginning some will pay. now at sticker they are flying off the shelves

good luck getting kbb trade in value. most if not all dealerships give black book value which is often thousands less. if kbb shows 37k you may be looking at 32k.

still trying to get rid of an 03 escalade. you can't give used GM stuff away right now. I can get a base SUT for the low 40's +tax, but can't get rid of what I have. Catch 22.
Employee pricing is only good ig you don't have anything to sell first.
My buddy went to buy a new car and trade in his suburban. they wouldn't even take it!!!

Klaus, after my experience with the H2 Nav I don't think I want to even try with the H3...when it comes.

I think you got a smokin deal on your trade in. I went to my local dealership here in S.A., and they were kind enough to offer me 28K for mine, if I traded it in for an H3 and put 15k down.
Needless to say, I did not buy an H3!

I think you should sell your H2 yourself and fly to TX to buy the H3. You have to do it so you can time everything to stop off and meet everyone in Moab on the way back this way we can all see pics of the H3 there

However, if you have a full tank of fuel when you go to trade it you may get $50K for it. LOL...

Instead of taking a HUGE hit at the dealer You might want to try to sell it privately. Iam currently in the market to purchase a H2 if the price is right. My email address is testtube@tampabaydsl.com
