I can't extoll the virtues of a roof rack enough. Coming home from Vegas, we had four people plus luggage in the H2, and on the roof-rack, we had a brass bed from the late 1800's.
I'm a total convert to the safari-type racks, and this was my first opportunity to wander around on my roof rack. The folks entering and leaving the casino all had to stop and chat with me while I waited for parts of the bed to be handed up to me.
