Just had my first expirience with one of those enviromentalist. Got home from work this morning and headed down to the village with my fiance to have a nice little breakfast. At least I thought it would be.
We sat down and before we ordered I got up and went next door to the little village store to get a newspaper. As I walk out of the restraunt I see this little skinny bald guy walk on the other side of my truck and then walk back towards the truck parked behind me. I had just got out of my truck not even 5 min's before when an older lady stopped me to tell me how beautiful the H-2 was. I thought this guy was just checking it out when all of a sudden he looks around to make sure nobody is watching him and then walks back to my truck and slaps a "I'm a G*******" sticker on my rear bumper. Let me tell ya, I did all I could do from not punching that man's lights out. Man was I HOT. I kept walking towards him till he tripped over the curbing and fell backwards onto the sidewalk. He kept saying over and over "I don't want to fight you".
I realize that this incident is very minor to some of the the things that I have read on this forum and I consider myself very lucky that that it was only just a bumper sticker. Before today I thought that all that stuff happens on the west coast and it would never happen here (East coast). I learned something today!
Thanks for listening, I feel better now that I told someone who knows and understands what I'm talking about.

Did you call the cops?
Make a citizen's arrest and call the cops. That's vandalism.
I sure hope you called the cops. I'd hate to hear that he got away with nothing on his record.

Austoak, Good Job. Can you tell us more about the exchange of dialog you had with him?
I wish I could show your restraint, but if that was me, I would've reacted differently, I know that.
I applaud your restraint! KUDOS!

Nice. I wish I could have caught those pukes that keyed my truck... It would have been a real challenge to not to pull my gun and start blasting... Maybe I shouldn't carry when I drive my H2...

The people who started this anti-SUV stuff and fanning the flame is doing a great disservice to our nation, it is dividing the society and adding hatred to an otherwise non-exsistant issue to people whom previous had no issue against each others, turning neoghbors against neighbors. All these while we are fighting real enemies who are intended on killing us, blow up our buildings and cities.
What did this this skinny bald guy accomplished by putting a sticker on austoak's Hummer? did he in any way make our society a better world or save the environment? likewise what did the ELF achieve by burning down 5 houses in San Diego last Friday? or bombed the Bio-drug company in Emeryville(SF Bay area)?
I hope HeeHaw is right that the law enforcement is taking these crimes seriouly, somehow I don't share the assessment, I don't think the entire law enforcement community is taking these ELF crimes seriously. I have yet to see any real arrests, except that southern California kid who burned down the dealership, but he walked. He is free to walk the streets, that shows the law enforcement down there, may not be the police, but the system as a whole thinks this is no big deal and released him. I bet they'd not let him go if his motive was otherwise.

You know, as much as I don't like the patriot act, it is in place for a reason. To hunt terrororists (and to give the bush administration autocratic powers, but that's another issue). Why don't they use their sweeping powers to catch these stupid terrorists. they may not have killed anybody (yet), but they are still terrorists...

Argonaut,
Those of us who live in Missouri will soon be able to legally carry concealed weapons after obtaining a permit. The governor of Missouri (a Democrat) was unable to stop it from becoming law this time. This all happened on of all days.... Sept. 11 ! Which I thought was kind of fitting. I'm certainly am not wanting to ever have to take advantage of the fact that I was carrying a concealed weapon, but I definitely want the option of doing so if the need arises.
As far as letting that ELF terrorist out of jail, it's probably being done so that various law enforcement agencies can gather intelligence by keeping an eye on him and monitoring his communications with potential other ELF/terrorists.

argonaut, would you really cap someone for keying your car?
I can't see trading my freedom for some car scratches. Now maybe an old fashion tail woopin would be in order

No, I wouldn't cap anyone unless my life was seriously threatened. But I would love to do it if laws were different. Oh well. You just now have the right to carry there? That sucks. We have had it forever here in liberal democratic Oregon...

Myself, someone putzing around with my rig gets a cap, however, for all those who applaud restraint...still waiting to hear about the guy who messed with an H2 and became room temp, but nobody cares who did it.
Check out the OkC Chapter Page!

Hey
I need one of those stickers for my boat.
Try a 8.1 in a crew cab short bed HD2500 with a 26 gallon tank. A friend tells me 5 mpg in town. He fills up 3 times a day some days. 10 MPG, that ain't so bad.

YOU CAUGHT THE GUY AND YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING?!!!!!!! What was the matter? Was your tampon string hanging out?
First thing you do is look for witnesses. If there aren't any, then you knock that little f*cker out!!! Then you piss on him.
If this happens to me, and I catch the piece of sh*t, there's gonna be a very savage mystery assault. Possibly a disappearance, too.

Yet another good reason to own an SUT. You wouldn't need to worry about the crunchy little enviro-greenie bleeding on your nice carpet when you take him for "a ride".
Well, the upside is that at least you caught him in the act. Most of these a-holes do their deed and go on with their day, one notch prouder. You deprived him of that. I myself would have went & sat in his truck with the doors locked and went through his stuff for personal info & then called the cops. Much restraint being used not to maim the guy.
Interesting that he was driving a truck too...
