So I let my old car group know I got an h3, and we got a hummer hater! As usual the hater has no knowledge of what he speaks of.

First he called the H3 a Colorado, because of the frame. This coming from a stratus owner! Where all 2nd gen stratus and sebring sedan models are on the exact same frame! And there were like 5 1 g cars all on the same frame!

Then he called my h3 a refridgerator that was just mean. And various other hater comments.

What's with people calling the h3 a different vehicle because of it's frame? I don't get that... You can't even see the frame usually!

Sorry to hear that. There was a guy at the shop when I was getting the new tires that said it was a glorified Trailblazer because that was the frame it uses. I corrected him about having nothing to do with the Trailblazer at all. He wasn't really trying to give me a hard time but just didn't know. He seemed to like it and based on some of the vehicle I have seen him in over the years he knows a thing or two about wheeling. Trying to get him to show me some places to go up in Ocala.

I asked about someone they recommended to do some custom work for you and power coating. One of the guys is supposed to call me in the next couple of days with the number of a guy they know. I guess they do powder coating where he works and he can do stuff after hours for extra cash. Will let you know when I here something.

Yeah, there is a lot of envy with that group. Hated on the avic-n2 and chrome rims also...

Anyways, I expected some hatred towards the h3, have gotten nothing but good stuff out on the streets though.

I just have no idea what's up with calling the h3 a colorado and an h2 a tahoe! it makes no sense to me.

Fortunately I live in a place where my friends and aquaintances know little about such things; ignorance is bliss. In fact I have called my H3 a refrigerator because of the way the rear door opens. Only one young lady said it was ugly but the others immediately contradicted her. What matters is that there is absolutely no other truck in its price bracket that I would buy, period. I didn't buy it for impressing other people; so I am not let down at all if they are unimpressed; I bought it for me. EOS.

the newest hater quote I have been told about my H3 is that it is a lifted station wagon with a chop top!!! And I am always getting comments about it being just a jeep that is amped up on steroids.

No, I'm flattered that people take time to hate on the h3! This is the first negative comment I've gotten about it, and it happened to be about the frame. And I don't really get it, so I can't take it as an insult.

But the main thing was who these comments came from! Someone calling the h3 a colorado because the frame is similar, when they own a car that has the EXACT frame as another car. Thought that was funny.

You can only see the frame from the side, but many claim the H3 is a Colorado/Canyon with a different body. However, the frame has two additional cross members, boxed at both ends, and except for the engine and trans, the chassis components are all different.
Axles are from a large size truck, transfer cases are Borg Warner, versus Isuzu on the Colorado/Canyon vehicles.
That's why people say the frame is different and if off-roading this is an important upgrade, even if you have to lie on your back to see the additional beef to the vehicle's undercarriage and components.

It's part of the whole way the people look at things today... if it's not what I would do it's wrong and needs to be destroyed/slammed/spammed/trashed/mocked/etc...

Just look at the way the 'tolerant', 'inclusive', liberal youth approach debating anything which from voting to choice... they will get violent and in your face if you disagree.

It's beyond sour grapes. I strongly beleive that this is a simple case of spoiled children who never were told 'no.'

Right now I'm in the camp of "Kill 'em with kindness". When I told my family I was getting a Hummer they were shocked. My middle sister started on a tirade of horrible this and aweful that blah, blah, blah.

I gave her the facts, told her why I wanted it, and what I was going to use it for. She saw the light and has been cool about it ever since.

I treat all the haters this way and I've yet to have a hater win the argument. When the day comes that they do... Well. Tough Sh1t. Put it in 4low and lock the rear dif. Then drive over their sorry a$$ civic/status/pos.
