I had a Chevy Avalanche before my H2, and had fading issues with all the plastic panels on the truck. I tried almost all the products available to restore the luster and color to the plastic and found one product that definitely stands out from the rest. 3M Marine Vinyl Cleaner and Restorer ($7.88 at Walmart)works the best. It does not run onto the paint when it rains and holds up through several car washings. I find that if you spray it heavy on a sponge or rag and wipe down all your black plastic, then go over it with a clean rag wiping up the excess and buffing it to a shine gives good results. I still use this product on my H2 on the bumpers, wheel well trim and the luggage rack rails on the roof. I have tried several other products like Armor All and Mothers Back to Black and others and found them to run down onto the paint in the rain and also disappear after a rain or 1 washing.
