Lately I've been thinking of buying a radar detector, after getting pulled over few times for speeding. I wouldn't mind something cordless. Which one is the best and where would I get the best deal?

The best radar detector is the Valentine One:
http://www.valentineone.com/
Check out the site, lots of good info. BTW, Mike Valentine developed the original Escort back in the 70's.

Go Solo. Passport Solo S2 for the H2. Used it this weekend on a 350 mile trek to Denver and it saved me 2 tickets for sure with patrol running instant on and standing laser from an underpass. Available from Sharper image with free shipping right now for $329.

I need one that is not picked up by radar detector/detectors. Darn things are illegal here in VA.

$399 dollars is a lot to spend for a detector, but this is the only one I'll have. I do a lot of long distance motorcycle riding and I can't begin to tell you how many tickets my V1 has saved me. Just the arrows alone are worth the price when you immediately know in which direction the radar is comming from. Also they are updatable when new hardware comes out.

ValentineOne is the way to go. It is radar detector detector proof because of the the metal case. One of the few radar detectors that has two detectors built in it one soly for front the other for the rear you get much more coverage.

I would go with the Valentine one although the K40 is also top of the line, not to mention they will pay for speeding tickets for up to 1 year.... No matter how fast you are going... According to what I have been told.. Never tried to find out...

I agree, V1 is the best by far. Spend the extra money and go for the best. A pro would be able to hide it for you and there are built in stealth monitors for the V1 with the arrows. In my BMWs I have them in the rearview mirror. It works very well and is very very discreet.

I appeciate what you wrote, however: Are you sure??? Nothing on the site says anything about being detector detector proof.

I belive it is detector detector proof, but I'm not positive. Not an issue for me because they are legal here. However if ou do a pro install on the V1 they are basically invisible. Of course it will cost money, but you get a far superior detector and peace of mind. they can detect you all they want, but if they can't prove you have one, it doesn't matter. The ability to know which direction the signal is coming from helps you determine if it is legitimate or not. Although i get very very few false readings on my V1. I had the passport before and it was not as good at all.
