All roads are supposed to have a slight drop to one side or the other. On a two-lane higway, usually to the right, on a four-lane the right lane will dip to the right, the left will dip to the right or left. This is to allow water run off, and is called the crown.
Some will dip more than others, and some will not even dip at all, since the road crew didn't know what they were doing. Some, like in this state, provide for water runoff through giant holes in the pavement, with giant cracks that drain the water into the holes. The holes are deep enough so that it is bare dirt where the hole is, thus allowing the water to be absorbed naturally by the dirt in the bottom of the giant hole.
Move to MI, and you never have to worry about an alignment. If you hit the giant hole on the right of the tire, just make sure to hit the left side the next time you drive that road.
