LV hit the nail on the head. The Volant Kit or K & N kit are the most popular air intake kits. The Hypertech Programmer is one of the more popular for "computer chips."
Good luck on search for better MPG.
As for performance, Magna Charge it! But that's not the cheapest way to go.
