Viet Nam Vette is an unknown quantity at this point
Default

I have used the K&N Hi Techy Schmecy Oil-Em-Up filters on my 86 Supercharge Vette and also use one on my 73 460 Thunderchicken. I have one on my 65 502 BB now ..which I am Thinking about removing.

Why You ask Pray Tell... Well some one did a pice on a Vette forum I belong to that made me think about this whole deal. Now this guys and Automotive engineer. So..I listened..

Here's the Short version..

Thses K&N type filters do flow more air then a stock Paper filter when new.

The deal here is.. they are oiled up with this pretty pink gack oil all over the filter gause.

As time goes by.. the airborne Sch-Meg-Ma.. or Head Cheese in the intake air stickes to the gause and builds up.

Now it's six months latter.. Does this Wiz Bang Oiley wash me in the sink filter now flow as much air as the papper filter.??

I don't know Bunky... According to the post ..Na-Da..

I think the General would be all over this one too just like the Vegie Cutter in the intake if it was really that good.

Knowing that very few of us polish our crankshafts and do maint when the time comes ..I guess the General figures that the Papper Job is the best all around filter for your H3 or What ever you drive.

Me........I'm going back to the News papper in the Round.....
