Before people get used to the impressive looks of our H2's, I think an air horn should be added for more acoustic impressions as well aside from the visual.
Any body has an idea what would be the best option for an (conceiled!) air horn. RealWheels?

The air horn from Real Wheels is awesome. Well worth it. I think that I would get the train horn if I had somewhere to put it, but the other one is more then loud enough.

Yeah. Where to put the air horn, so it's not to conspicuous. Next to roof off road lights?

I think inside the Hummer would be nice, that way you can look at them all the time. Why spend the money on airhorns and let other people enjoy it? When you use it, you get all the joy of listening to the beautiful sound too. Personally I would put several stripes of strobe lights on the dash and run around the interior roof, 2 sets of airhorns near the visors inside, carpet the dash with deep green carpet as used in apartments, top it off with some very nice lighted fuzzy dices. Together with zebra seat and steering wheel covers, you will have the look of Safari inside the Hummer.

You can place an air horn in the engine compartment. Even though rigs have them roof-mounted it can be just behind the grill and project plenty of sound.

JC Whitney offers a nice selection of single, dual, and high-power units.

Yea, the stock GM horn sounds like a stinkin' Buick. The H2 certainly warrants something with a little more testosterone.

Here's a site that may be worth looking at:

I too was disappointed in the horn.

I thought it would blast of get the Fark out of my way!!!! And it did sound like a BUICK.

The air horn sounds like a riot.

This weekend I installed behind the grill a 100 watt (123db) Speaker Whelen electronic air horn. These are the same air horn your find on the fire trucks. The thing is LOUD!!! You can find info about the airhorn and pa at:

www.SafetyLeague.com
www.SafetyLeague.com

Whelen Airhorn & PA at SafetyLeague.com

Whelen Air Horn & PA

Whelen Speaker mounted inside HUMMER H2 grill

This set up is very concealed and far less costly than three chrome air horns. It is by far the best I've found for air horns.

I bet that horn will clear a path.

Exactly what did you order. Did you need the installation brackets to complete the install.

I'm ready to add an aux horn and this may be the one.

Stupid question maybe, but I could not help wonder: wouldn't it be rude to use such a loud horn? The H2 horn sounded weak at first, but not bad if you hear it from outside or open the window. I rarely honk, if I do, I rather it not be too loud, I just want it to get the #@$%^%*& out of my way, please. The preconceived notion about a Hummer driver is already arrogant, rude and self-centered, add that loud air horn would certainly confirmed the misunderstanding. Wouldn't people think it is rude? it is sort of like a huge boombox blasting rap music on the street or bus. Or being rude is not a problem but actually a statement you want to make?
Hummer is already the strongest possible statement you can make, why do you need to blast an air horn? Am I missing something here?

I don't think the intent is to be obnoxious. My personal desire for a new horn would not be louder so much as lower and fuller. I just don't think a standard GM horn (which sounds like a dang Buick) does justice to the Hummer.

Thanks for info, TX Red. I did not want to be rude nor judgemental, I've read the air horn posts here for long times and always wanted to ask but not sure maybe this is the off-road or trucker culture, or maybe only people around here don't honk.

Check out the train horn. I don't think it would fit in the engine compartment anywhere but it sure would be loud. Too expensive for me.

yeah...the horn does seem a bit wimpy for what you would expect, but it's not that bad.

You have to remember that your inside a vehicle with triple-sealed doors and the horn faces forwards. I stood in front of the H2 and had someone give it a hoot....and you know what....it won't shatter any windows, but it's more then fine.

Besides....they always look at who's honking and then see our huge-ass grill bearing down at them!!!! Honk softly and drive an H2!

Besides...if you honk too loud it's considered sound-pollution. And if they can hear it in the middle east it's a beckoning call for terrorism. Sheesh!

Gary, did you add the horn in conjunction with the existing ones, replace one of the two or remove both factory ones?
