Boca Grande is almost two hours south of Tampa. You definately do not want to go by taxi.

If you like fishing, Boca is THE place for it so you may want to get a rental car and spend some time there. The Gasparilla Inn is where you should book for a stay down there.

The Marriott Waterside is quite nice even if it is a larger hotel. I can't really think of any small, quaint hotels in town.

I can give you some Tampa restaurant recommendations. As April approaches, let me know what your preferences are and I will send you a list.
