When it was first installed I had quite a bit of static when using OnStar. My installer used the PAC unit when he installed my AVIC. I have the Pioneer back-up camera but haven't had it installed yet. I did the upgrade on my N1 so that I could add the XM/NavTraffic tuner to it so no I am not able to watch DVD while in motion. There is no bypass that I know of that works for an upgraded N1. The NavTraffic feature was more important to me than the ability to watch video while driving. I haven't signed up for OnStar Diagostics yet but everything else seems to work fine. About two weeks ago my installer finished the rest of my stereo for me. I pulled the factory amp, sub, and front components and upgraded them. They were replaced with an Alpine MRV-F545 amp, 10" Type R sub, and 6 1/2" Type R components up front. The static that was present when using the PAC adapter disappeared after installed all of this. Was talking to my installer today and he said that using the PAC adapter with the factory amp may have been the problem and may have been causing a ground loop. Though the stock Monsoon system sounded pretty good it pales in comparision to what is in there now. I guess I'm running close to 900 watts now. It gets very loud but is nice and clear. I'm probably going to run the exact same setup in my Vette. As for the back-up camera it's my understanding that it will automatically come on whenever I put it in reverse. I'll let you know when I install it.
