Hi, I am thinking of installing the Proflash computer upgrade in my H2 and wanted some opinions on this idea. I already have the air intake and exhaust, but I am not sure whether I should mess with the factory computer or not. It just seems there is a lot that could go wrong with programming and reprogramming the computer all the time. I know that it eliminates the torgue management, but why is there torgue managemment in the first place??? Wouldn't you think that GM would have upgraded the computer in the first place if they thought it would benefit the H2 such as the escalade???? Also, what would happen if for some reason the proflash would break and not be able to restore factory setting when you needed them?? I am just not sure if messing with the computer so much is a good idea. Any opinions on this would be appreciated. Thanks

I've been using the Diablosport Predator program in mine and it works great. One of the best things about it is the built in Diagnostic software. If the SES light ever comes on, just plug in the programmer and it will tell you the code. No more paying $$$$ to go to the dealer just to find out what's wrong with it (Had to do that on my other vehicle).
I don't see a problem with programming the computer. The Predator stores the stock program in the unit, so anytime you have to take it in to the dealer you just save your program/settings and upload the factory program. When I get it back, my settings/program go back in.
The Predator has a performance program with it you can upload, but if you want to play with it you can change all the settings.
I just started playing with all the settings and I love it.
If I ever mess it up, I can always load the factory program back in and start over.

I got it from JP Customs (www.jpcustoms.com) for $585.00. I bought a bunch of stuff from them when I had my Tahoe and they are excellent people to work with. They just started carrying H2 Accessories a few months ago and was the first place I looked when I got mine.
They have some good stuff.

I bought the proflash and it worked perfect. Very easy to program and added a noticable increase in performance. My fuel mileage increased as well. I bought mine at calcover.com for $310.00 plus shipping. The unit will not show in their catalog, but if you call them they will order it for you.

I unfortunitely drove a H2 with the Magnacharger and was hooked. I ended up putting the Magnacharger on my H2 last week. Now this was money well spent, unbelievable power.

Mountain...I'm thinking about getting a predator programmer. Is it really worth it? Do you really notice an increase in power? Any change in fuel economy? I'm not the most engine savy person either...can an idiot like me use it with ease? I noticed you paid 585.00. I've seen it for 399 here:

Is this the same unit?

The Pro Flah i a good piece for the money. The Predator is also a scan tool. They are oth good units. I have installed both of them in n/a H2 and thought they oth worked great. Fopr a good price check out www.xtremeflow.com The carry them but the Pro Flash ha been written for them directly for the H2 There H2 wa the prototype for the flash programming.

Maybe someone can explain to me why the Diablosport Predator SEEMINGLY charges $170 more for the H2 programmer than the same programmer for all other 2003 GM 6.0L gasoline engines?

Why is there such a whopping difference in the units price? Does it do something when connected to a Hummer H2 that it doesn't do when connected to any othetr GM 6.0L? Or is this just a blatant case of over-charging for a product because it is used with a Hummer?

Thanks, Ed

Proflash now reads codes.

Today I reprogrammed theProFlash to the following:

Speed Limiter: Unlimited
Rear Axle and Tire Height: Stock
Octane: Regular
Ping Control: 0%
Engine Tune: Hi Perf
Trans Shifting: Hi Perf
Trans Enhance: Hi Perf

I have Corsa Sport Exhaust. Nothing else.

Accelleration is definitely better from the seat of the pants. No more annoying upshifting at every slight incline. Don't knopw mileage as I only have less then 1500 miles. I also only drive 1.5 miles to work. It's a tough commute.

Well worth it.

I bought the Predator on Ebay for $300.00. I like it. The biggest reason it feels better to drive is because it holds the gears a little longer. Plus the shifts are firmer and quicker. You can especially notice when it shifts from first to second. Mine used to just die.
