Re: Da Vinci Code?
He (Plantard) and his two cohorts actually confessed in1980-something. They confessed to making up the Dagobert/Merovingian lineage, and to planting the Documents in the French National Library.
What makes it interesting is some of the story is true, some of it legend, and some of it completely fabricated. I love the way it is woven together.
Can't wait to see the movie.

Re: Da Vinci Code?
There is this woman at work who is so against this movie she gets pissed if you even mention the movie. Everytime I can, I mention how I can't wait to see it just to antogonize her.

My best friends husband is that way. He would not read the book and did not want her to read it. I just think that is so funny. Man people are strange, I'm glad we are all normal on this forum!

Re: Da Vinci Code?
I also read the book and thought it was an excellent thriller. I am going to see the movie, however with all the books I have read prior to seeing the movies, I have found that the movies very rarely measure up to the books. I fully expect this movie to fall into that catagory.
I saw Poseiden last night and I was very disapointed. There's 93 minutes of my life I won't be getting back. Unfortunately it seems the same thing applies to remakes as well. They never seem to be as good as the original.
Next 2 movies on my list to see are The DaVinci Code and Silent Hill.

I liked Silent Hill, as long as you go into realizing that is is based upon the video game. Some Pretty freaky dudes on this one!

Re: Da Vinci Code?
HAJI movies!!! I have been home only a few months and I miss them already. Saw Star Wars I two weeks before it's release They make it just like the theater, you get to see the people sitting all around and you can see them getting up and moving, the dude with the camera coughing. New releases weeks, sometimes months before release, all for $3 or $4. Sat thru many rocket and mortar attacks watching them. If you ever need anything over there, let me know.

Re: Da Vinci Code?
jfox---Thats how I feel as well, and it is not even the whole book. I am religious but I don't need to read things literally.
