Re: Enclosed Trailer + your H2
Tim,
You should PM Johndjmix1 on this site. He tows an enclosed trailer with his H2. IM not sure of the totatl weight of the trailer when loaded, but ive seen it with a ranger, a quad bike, and some racing bikes in it behind the H2.

Re: Enclosed Trailer + your H2
Featherlite trailers are awesome! They really weight less than other models with steel frames. So you're starting off properly with that. The trailer brake wiring harness is properly wired in newer models, so that shouldn't be a big deal anymore.
My trailer is 15'x7'wx7'h. Dual axel with brakes. I have the v nose model, so the flat deck is 12ft and the v'nose adds 3 ft.
I travel everywhere with it; Arizona, Moab, Idaho and soon to be Rubicon!
Here's a pic of it behind the H2. I can get some of it with the Ranger inside and stuff too if you want.

Re: Enclosed Trailer + your H2
A H2 should have no problem with the trailer you discribed, I pull this 16' long (12'+4' v-nose)x 101" wide with 3 sleds in it with the Envoy in the pic regularly, about 3700# total weight. Although it would struggle if we had any thing that looked like mountians in Michigan.

Looks like you could use a little snow in Michigan too.

Re: Enclosed Trailer + your H2
Tim,
My trailer dry weight is around 2500 lbs. The most I've hauled (maybe) 5000. ( I never pull 5000 very far). You'll notice it's back there, and your fuel mileage will never be the same, but your truck will pull it. Going up all those steep passes in Colorado will take more time, mainly cuz you won't want all your stuff flying all over inside the thing, but it'll do it. 2nd gear will suffer over long distances, and the tranny will get hotter than Phil likes it , but it'll work. Program it. You'll be surprised. It's not a 3/4ton diesel.
Trailer:
Put the tie down rails in it.
Hang the spare tire (trailer) on the wall and never leave home w/out it.
Put tie downs on the floor.
Hang pics of the hummer inside and some coat hooks.
Don't forget the broom.
Get a box for car wash stuff and extra tie downs. (and hide some Jack Daniels in it for Kira on those nippy nights.)
Get a paper towel holder and put it by the door.
Don't forget the dog beds.
Sleeping bags.
Tool box
Water and gas cans
Bikes
If you want a Rhino in there, you'll have to put all the above stuff in the Rhino and load it in the trailer. (and jam some of it in front in the v-nose if that's what you get)
Personally I like the barn doors on the back. I can back up closer to things than with a ramp. But ramps are nice too.
Get a door for the side near the front.
Don't forget the Beaver pillow.
Put fishing rod holders on the roof, and if you want, a rifle rack.
Hang a cabinet or two on the wall, just remember a Rhino is wide and you have to get out after you load it.
Have a window put in so there's some light in it.
Do have them put wiring for exterior door lights, but provide them with decent lights.
Waa-Laa! about 3500 lbs of crap. (except the J.D. and the Beav)
